Help with what to eat

Recommended Posts

I need your help. Janet told me there was no need in any preop diet with Dr. Sanchez but everyone here says they are on a preop diet. What is a person to do?

Also, I read the thread about what to eat and buy for afterwards and I got my pain medicine that I take now on a daily basis (from neck surgery) Loritab, in liquid formula today will that work instead of pills?

Thank you everyone,

suppose to be banded July 21st,

Sherri

I had no preop diet. I was also banded by Dr. Sanchez! I have nothing but good to say him or any of the staff! Some docs require a preop diet and some dont.

My preop diet was the phase 1 on the South Beach diet. My liver was nicely shrunk and flexible according to my doc. I was on the preop for 9 days.

I had to do Physician's Weight Loss liquid only diet for 2 1/2 weeks pre-op. However, every doctor seems to have a different pre and post-op diet plan. I would recommend you go by whatever he/she tells you to do. If you are unsure, then call them.

I didn't have a pre-op diet and my dr. prescribed lortab afterward. It's good stuff, but it made me verrrry sleepy

I am also going to be banded by dr. sanchez. I know that they do not require a preop diet, but i plan on doing one anyways, just to make the surgery easier on dr. sanchez. Anything I can do to make things go smoothly, I am all for it. My plan is a liquid diet of broth, Protein Drinks, cucumber and pineapple drink, and lots of Water and green tea for two weeks before the surgery. That way my liver will be nice and shrunk, and my body will be well detoxified. ;)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
