Suggestions 3 months out and scared

Recommended Posts

Hi- I haven't been on the site since surgery March 23. Things were going good for a while. I realized I am a slow loser and didn't have a problem with that. I started out at 226 and up until mid June I was 191. I was excited, had not been in the 100's in years. The reason I is writing I am scared of regainining. I am at a point where I realize I can eat more and I have experimented with things like pizza. (Ate a half of slice). I find that I do get full quick but not to long after I feel empty again. Does anyone have any suggestions what type of diet to follow or how to get back on track? Next dr's visit is in Sept and I would love to be down at least 10-15 lbs.

Unless you continue to graze or eat things like pizza, chips, foods with high sugar and fat content, ie. ice-cream, Cookies, cakes, chips etc...I don't think you will have a problem and you will continue to lose. Just follow the fundamental concept of Protein first then vegetables, then fruits and other stuff and you really won't have trouble with the foods that can cause weight gain...there just won't be enough room for it! You don't have to deprive yourself either. A treat now and again will not sabotage your food plan as your need to maintain health will be a priority so things should balance out. Hope that helps.

I totally agree with LAN2K. Having some of these treats is okay. I have already eaten pizza a bunch actually - but mostly I've made little flatbread pizzas at home piled with chicken or beef and using 2% cheese.... super high Protein and around 200 cals. I did have pizza out at one place when I was away... very thin crust and had 1/2 a slice (big slices though.) And I just keep right on losing ;) I haven't had a ton of bad things but I give myself little treats like 2 M&M's here and there and I feel satisfied pretty much all the time!

Just stick to high protein, hit your goal each day, drink all your Water. If you deprive yourself of things you love you will just end up pigging out on them in the end. Plan for them, plan the rest of your day around them. It's the ones that "just happen" that can get you into trouble :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
