I have always had a hard time with Vitamins. Pre surgery I could eat donuts topped with chicken fried steak and cover in chillie dogs, but I had to be really careful about Vitamins or I would get nauseaus.

I have tried Bariatric Advantage and Centrum chewable but both make me hurl. :puke4: Capsuls and pills.... all the same.

any ideas

Thanks

Stacey

Me too Stacy. I didn't have a problem with them preop but they kill me post op. I had to find a special Gummy Vitamin that has much nutritive help to it. I can do the bariatic advantge if I suck on them so they very gradually hit your stomach instead of chewing them up and having them hit all at once.

I cant take Vitamins either, i am going with the gummy vitamins from Walmart. I'm chewing several a day because they are pretty low in the DV of most vitamins. But i am the same with Wannalise, i cant chew them all up at once, without them hitting my stomach hard and heavy. I chew a couple (2-3) at a time and swallow, then a few hours later do it again.

stcyt,

I have had a lot of trouble with the Vitamins since surgery. I had to take liquid vitamins for the first two weeks which gave me diarrhea and then switched to Celebrate adult chewable vitamins and they made me puke. After that I bought some children's chewable vitamins, target brand Flinstones. I do realize that they are not optimal in daily values and such but I figured something was better than nothing and I was able to keep them in my stomach. I plan on finishing this bottle and then I want to try regular pills and cut them in half. I am hoping by then my stomach will have settled and healed enough to handle the real thing. I guess we'll see.

Thanks guys.... I didn't want to waste all the money I have spend on Vitamins I cant take so I have started mixing them with my daily smoothy (strawberries, soy milk, greek yougart) and they are going down a little better.

So long as I eat when I take my meds or Vitamins, or at least have a glass of milk, I have been fine. I did get sick the first week post-op but had taken two back meds and hadn't eaten much.

I am taking walgreen's store brand prenatals, was well as others, not have any issues/

good luck! I can't imagine vomiting with a new sleeve!

I have trouble with vitains as well. i take Centrum and I find it better if I take it after dinner right before bed. This way its not on an empty stomach and Im not awake to get sick. Works for me hopefully for you too!

I can swallow pills just fine....I really want to know if I can go back to the swallow kind. I think I'm going to call my surgeon's office and ask them or wait until my next appt. in a few weeks.

I didn't even take them the last two nights because I was already not feeling good because of the pain I'm in due to my back. UGH.

I was worried about getting in enough nutrients in my gummy vitamins, so yesterday i went to GNC and bought a $35 bottle of liquid vitamins called Miracle 2000. It has amino acids, high in B Vitamins, everything. Even is cherry flavored. Well, i drank half a capful (half an ounce), and almost threw up. I had to take TWO zofran, 2 tbsp nausea liquid, and a phenergen to keep from throwing up. It was awful. Once the nausea subsided i drank a Protein Shake to try to dilute the vitamins, i think it hit my stomach too hard and fast. I won't take it again. I'm wondering what their return policy is on that stuff- $35 down the drain on liquid vitamins really sucks.

As long as you have your receipt, they'll take back any product purchased in their store, even if it's opened.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
