I can't even imagine how you are feeling right now Kathy. I don't have surgery there for 3 weeks and I'm scared! I have heard there is no power in Mexicali still this morning. And they have to sterilize basically the whole hospital. I hope the people there for surgery are okay. I would be scared spitless! I hope things go okay for you and I selfishly hope things will be okay in 3 weeks. :)

I've been confined at the courthouse all day on jury duty. I hadn't heard that there was an earthquake. If someone's lurking who knows about it, I'd sure like to know where it was. Mexico? Arizona?

I have a son in LA and I tried to call hiim tonight and couldn't reach hiim. That's why I'm concerned.

The big quake was a little south of Mexicali, MX. LA only felt it a little. Not a big deal there at all.

Thanks you all! I am sorry that it's interfering with your surgery. And I sure hope no one was hurt! I'm shocked that Yuma realized a 6.9 from the quake. That would be a really big deal in L.A. They're so tightly packed - like sardines.

I'm in Texas and quakes are virtually unheard of here. I can't even imagine what it is like to experience one. Hope you don't have any aftershocks! And best of luck to you with your surgery.

It looks like I will be pushed back to next week!:sad0: That is if I keep my fingers crossed. For everyone else flying down there this week I hope you have a safe trip and I will be thinking about you all.

Dude, I should of thought of that I had not ate anything that day and they were already poking and prodding in that area. I should have just told them to knock my ASS out.:sad0: Oh well! They probably could have not handled us both at the same time. HAHAHAH

Thanks for the pick me up:thumbup:

All right how many of you get to say this twice......Heading to Mexicali tomorrow.....yeah!!! Everything is going great and back on track so they can do my surgery on Thursday!

I did talk to 2 people down there when it all happened they had theirs done today. They are all fine...scared....but fine. Part of the hotel was damaged but being fixed as we speak. Not much damage done to hospital...few damaged air conditioning ducts..things knocked over and ceiling tiles fell. But nothing major.

Ann Marie and David hope you had an uneventful day and you are doing well tonight.

Kathy

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
