I have been reading these boards for about a month. At an information seminar my surgeon mentioned the Vertical Sleeve and after a ton of resarch, to include this board, both my surgeon and I agree that I am a great candidate for a VSG. I was never keen on the lap band and feel strongly that this is the best decision for me. And, I am pumped.

I was attempting to fast track this (self-pay);however, my blood work indicaed I have Iron deficiency anemia. So, I am now taking mega doses (under Dr. supervision) of Iron. I'll find out this week if this will delay my surgery.

Thank you to all contributing membes on this board - you make a difference. Having this kind of informaton forum and caring and support is awesome.

DeeDee - welcome to VST and congrats on making the decision for the sleeve. Hope your blood work comes back good and you're able to move forward with your surgery. If not, don't rush it - be sure all your labs are good before undergoing surgery. Keep us posted on your progress.

I started out wanting the Lap Band. After a seminar and some research I changed my mind. I love the sleeve!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
