Hey you'll - count me in! I'm hoping for a June surgery too. As of today, all of my records are in at the surgeon's office. I have a tentative date scheduled and my paperwork is going to insurance on Monday.

We're going to have to post some strategies for passing by all the GA rib joints, krispy cremes, and fish frys after surgery. :thumbup1:

Sleeved at last on Friday August 20th, 2010 at Emory Johns Creek. 98 lbs down pre surgery after a year of dieting and exercise. I am now ready for Phase II with the sleeve to take of at least another 70lbs by next summer. Paul Macik was my surgeon.

I live in GA and would be interested in a group. I went for my first appointment today with my husband. We are looking at staggering our surgeries to give the other time to recover. If all goes well mine will be in about 3 to 4 months. I may be underestimating the time since I am new to this but only need about 3 months with insurance.

My husband and I and our daughter all had surgery. Mine was May 10, 2010 (Sleeve), So far I have lost 63 lbs. My husband and daughter had their surgery on July 12, 2010 (RNY) So far my husband has lost 45 lbs and our daughter has lost 30 lbs. We all have done very well. Best thing I've ever done, wish I had done it years ago but couldn't muster up the courage. I feel so much better. Before, I could actually feel myself dying. I had come to a cross road in my life and I chose this to live. No regrets.

I went to Midtown Surgical Specialists with Dr. Blaney in Augusta, Ga They also have support groups twice a month at Trinity Hospital for those who need support. It's on the first and third Thursday of the month.

I'm a GA sleever! I was all done up at Ft. Gordon, Augusta, GA. March 16... Summerjade I live in Evans. Hope your surgery went well!

I get so excited when I find a Fort Gordon Sleever....I'm searching for an MTF and Fort Gordon maybe an option for me. Please share with me your experience and your opinions of the program there. Who were your surgeons, is the facility state of the art, do they have a dedicated WLS department? Did you have any complications? Anything you would do differently?

I am in Atlanta and I am hoping to be sleeved in June. All paperwork was submitted to the insurance company yesterday so fingers, toes, and even eyes are crossed hoping that it gets approved.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
