Three month progress report

Recommended Posts

So, three months ago today, a major bodily organ was sliced into pieces and part of it was pulled right out of my body. Funny, seems like a lot longer than that. I am down 59.5 pounds since December 1 when I started this journey and 43.5 since surgery day.

The last two weeks have only garnered a two pound loss each, but my sleep pattern was really a mess as my husband worked nights to do some training.

I still track every meal on myfitnesspal.com, and I average 750-800 calories (sometimes a bit over, but not regularly), 75-90 Protein, and 30-40 carbs (again the rare overage, but not ever over 50).

I will be 42 in two weeks, and I don't consider myself a fast loser at all, but I am happy with the progress. As long as I continue downward, I am thrilled. I eat everything now, with nothing "off limits." Fortunately, I'm not a sweet tooth or snacker, so that has not been an obstacle. I have pizza, tacos, etc. But those things don't completely dominate my diet anymore, and I balance the days that I have some to ensure that all my counts are still good. And, I can only eat a small amount compared to the large pizza I used to inhale!

Life is great. We are going to Tahoe for Easter, and we are going to Europe for 16 days in May for a Mediterranean cruise. I hope to be under 220 by then, and I'm at 239.5 today. I think that's very doable based on my current stats.

I love my sleeve and my journey. And, I love the support I find here and at obesityhelp.com.

WOW ... this is so encouraging. Almost 60lbs down in such a short time! I can't even imagine what it would be like to be down 60lbs. The most I've been able to lose and then put back on is about 25lbs.

Thank you so much for your report.

John

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
