Hi. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and have done tremendously. No pain, easy to eat, felt great. Today after work and keeping my grands for my daughter i am completely washed out I just want to crawl into bed and stay there a long time. But we have the two year olds birthday party tomorrow. I hope this is temporary. When did you all start on soft Protein. I feel ready and like this would help.

I started on purees at two weeks out... refried Beans and ricotta cheese fall into the category.

My energy was great for four weeks, but I think everything caught up to me a couple of weeks ago. I still have a lot of energy, but I seem to poop out faster and be more tired at the end of the day. I've heard that it can take several weeks for the physical effects of the surgery (anesthesia, bodily stress, etc.) to leave the body, so I'm resting when I can and going with the flow. You're normal! Have a fun party! :)

I too started pureed foods at two weeks out. I will start soft foods at 4 weeks.

I can really relate to that wall of fatigue. During week two I worked in my office and on Friday I worked from home. Friday afternoon I hit that wall and stayed in my jammies watching movies until Sunday morning. During week three I hit that wall one day after lunch in my office. It passed the same day.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
