Hi all,

I am just over 2 weeks post banded and I am feeling just great. I do have a question about port pain. For the last 2 days it seems that I can't bend to far forward without having some pain in the middle tummy area above my belly button. Also when I am sitting at my desk or driving I find I have to sit up strait or there is some pain. Its not constant but comes and goes. Does this sound familiar to anyone?I am hoping it is just the port healing on the inside. I have my first post-op appt on June 2.

TIA for any answers/help:) :grouphug: :o:)

Angie

I had my band on April 28th and was very concious of my port for the first couple of weeks. As you mentioned, if I bent in a certain way, or when I laid down I felt it. However, at 4 weeks out I no longer feel it or have any awareness of it at all. I had mentioned this in a previous post and a veteran bandster mentioned it having to do with the fact that they sew the port into your muscle and it just takes time to heal.

Oh yes. That describes me. And it is still tender at 3 months out. If one of my kids sits on my wrong or I bend wrong I definately feel it.

I still feel various pains in my upper abdomen. The area right under my sternum is still very tender. I think that is where the liver covers the stomach. Since the liver has to be pulled aside for banding, I'm thinking that is just my body protesting the abuse. It is getting better. It's also still tender right around the port, but also getting better.

Hey Stitchy,

I have not had any pain in that area, only by my biggest incision. I guess it take a good 4-6 weeks to fully recover.

Just keep sippin and chew chew chew:D :grouphug: :o

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
