Hi my name is Meesa. on January 8, 2008 I had Lapband Surgery. It has been 2 years of misery. Approximately 3 months ago my surgoen suggested I switch to the sleeve. In researching it I don't see alot of information/testimonals.I am curious if anyone has converted from the band to the sleeve and their testimonals. :)

I'm a revision patient from band to sleeve.

Hated the band, and love the sleeve.

I had complications with my band, flipped port, couldn't get access to get a fill, gained back part of the weight I loss, and the flipped port was so severely twisted it caused the tubing of the band to literally tug on my stomach.

I only had my band for 8 months. I revised on June 3rd 2009, and lost 112 by the week of Christmas with the sleeve. I'm hovering between 141-143 right now. Life with the sleeve is awesome. Instant restriction, no fills, unfills, I honestly believe it was easier to "learn" to eat with the sleeve because of all the problems with eating with the band. The 2 procedures are like night and day as is life post-op. If you have any specific questions, feel free to contact me via private messaging.

There are several of us revision patients on the forum.

Here's their member names if you'd like to look up their posts as well.

I am 5 weeks out from a revision from band to sleeve. Swear to god, they should outlaw the band. For the last 6 months of my "band life", I survived on Protein shakes and I.V. fluids. I absolutely love the sleeve. I am able to eat real food now (well, nothing sounds good but I still love my Protein Shakes, and cheddar cheese is OHHH so good!). I am able to eat about 2 tablespoons of other food and it is sooo wonderful to have the taste of food in my mouth again. My stomach feels "normal again". No more constant pain, throat pressure, etc that goes along with the stinking band. Please read my stuff on lapbandtalk.com for all the crap that went on with the band. I was under the same name there.

Getting the sleeve has been the best think I have ever done for myself!!!

I had the band for 3 years before and did ok, towards the end, it stopped working, no Fluid would go in or out...I had a removal and revision at the same time in November. For me it was rough in the first few days....the site of band removal had swollen shut causing me to dry heave for 3 days. This doesn't happen to everyone I should say. The sleeve is SO MUCH BETTER!! And you have a special insight, because you have the basics down: chew thoroughly and eat slow! Good Luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
