Good luck to you. I also am awaiting my surgery date. What kind of "milk shakes" are they making you drink? Thanks.

Hello NoPatience,

I no longer drink the Protein Milkshakes, but when I did I drank the ones from GNC store in the mall here in Somerset. I thought that they tasted better than the ones from Wal-Mart.

Well I have good news to update my story. I have now reached ONEDERLAND, I weighed

199.2 on Feb. 15, 2010. It feels so good to be out of the twos. I have not been in the hundreds for at least 20+ years.

I bought me a pair of 14 W Rider Jeans and they fit. It is so hard to believe. I am still quite a ways from my goal weight of 145, but now it seems to be more within reach. This is a great journey having the Sleeve. I am so thankful that my life has been changed by having the sleeve done on Dec. 2, 2009.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

We are kinda in tandem, mountainlover...I'm at 201 and hope to hit onederland by Monday. Goal is also 145.

I started at 288 though. Losing 10 lbs per month now.

I went from size 28 to 20...cleaned out my closet again today...not much left. Bought new scrubs today because the girls at work are complaining about my baggy clothes!

I am coming back to update my progress. I have been going through a tough time with family issues and had to go into the Hospital for a week recently to help overcome the obstacles, and was successful. Now I am on my way to losing. On April 15 I weighed 195, but I went back up to 199 while I was in the Hospital. I am happy to say that As of May 4, I now am down to my lowest weight since surgery, I am at 194.8.

I hope I can continue to lose more quickly to get to my Goal Weight of 145 pounds. It has been coming off slowly, but I am happy with the results so far. I am sure that This will help me to get back in the groove of things. I tried to post new photos on my album, but was unsuccessful, I will have to have my son to help me, He is really good at uploading photos. I will update when I lose more. Thank you for your prayers and support. I want to come back more often soon, because I need the inspiration. Cathy

Cathy=mountianlover: I am glad you have posted an update. I havebeen very remiss in posting myself. I am glad you are on your way back down! yipee!! I will tell you from my experience as frustrating as it is to loose slowley, it is way better for your body. I have handfuls of loose skin and the flabbest legs on earth. Don't mind it that much, I know I am a work in progress. My body will catch up (some) and I will probably get surgical help for what is left. I do not need to be perfect by any streach, just can't have these legs forever. One major thing this surgery has given/taught me is Patience. The: "Iwantitall,Iwantitnow!" theme has stopped running in my head. I am actually enjoying the changes that are happening. I just have to stop regressing into the old, "why did I let myself get so heavy in the first place" routine and just breathe in "I am doing the best I can each day and loving life now".

Keep trying, never give up. You are worth it. Belated welcome to Onederland!

I am coming back to give everyone an update. I have lost a total of 80 pounds pre-op and post-op. I have 41.8 more pounds to lose to reach my goal weight of 145. I am getting so excited about reaching my goal. It has been a good journey with the vertical sleeve surgery. I have been going through many family related very stressful situations and I had to be hospitalized 2 times in April and May and still dealing with some medicine issues and going to councelling as much as possible to help me get through this. Please pray for me during this time for God to help work everything out. Thank you all for your support. I have not updated my photos, but I will work on trying to get some on as soon as possibe.

Mountain Lover: WOW good for you! I will watch for another post from you in the next few months. I too am at 180. Kinda holding there, I just need to get re-focused. I am so happy with the sleeve. It has made this journey possible.

I will pray for you and your family.

God Bless.

Thank you for your prayers. I am now at 182.6. I have been losing very slowly. I have not been doing what I need to be doing. I have been trying to get back into exercising more often to help firm up and to help lose the weight. I need to do better with what I choose to eat. I am very happy that I had the sleeve, because it does restrict how much I can eat. I still have no regrets having the sleeve.

Thank you for your prayers!! I am now at 182.6 pounds and have no regrets having the sleeve. I have had acid reflux, but it is mostly due I think to my eating late in the evening.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
