Decided to make the move...

Recommended Posts

Well, I've finally made my decission to make the move from the band to the sleeve. I'm having my surgery on Sept 3rd and I'm excited and nervous all at the same time.

When I had my band I thought I had researched to the point I just couldn't reasearch any more....ha! Not so much I guess. It seems all I hear about lately are issues with the band. Slips, erosions, infections, the body rejecting the band...big time. I'm afraid it is only a matter of time and I've decided to make the change before anything serious happens to me. I've been at a stand still for 8 months now and although I'm happy that my band got me as far as it did and I have no doubt in my mind without it, I would have re-gained the weight I lost. At the same time, I'm super excited to get the sleeve because I think it will be better for me...personally. Can't wait to be an officer sleeve-er..lol

The sleeve is way better than the band. You will be really happy to get that band out of you. I really worried that I would be too late and not be able to get revision surgery. The band can ruin your stomach to the point that you can't even get revision to a sleeve, so I got mine out before that happened.

Honestly that is part of the reason I want to do this now. I don't "think" there is anything seriously wrong but I want it done before something happens. I have a gutt feeling if I wait something will happen and I'm not prepared with having to wait for my stomach to heal before I can get the sleeve when I can do it all right now. I'm getting very excited :tongue2:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
