My dad drank nothing BUT coke for years. As long as I can remember, from a small child, he always had coke in front of him. He lived to be 90.

A lot of the stuff that scares people about Coke is because it sounds scarier than it really is. :thumbup1:

But soda in general isn't very good for you for a variety of reasons.

My teeth are whiter since I stopped drinking Diet Coke, for example.

I don't miss them at all. I like the fact that the only thing I drink is either a Protein Drink or Water. As far as I ever stray past water is Propel. It's just water with calories, but at least not many. I only drink that when I go to the movies . Somehow, I think I need a treat at the movies.

I haven't drank soda since I got my band in 2006. Up until that time, I was a diet coke addict. I drank at least six a day. One time about a year and a half ago, we were driving down the highway on a long trip and I was so thirsty. Hubby had a coke and I took a sip of it. I spit it right back out again, it tasted thick and syrupy. I haven't had a desire for any soda since.

I have cut out the caffeinated diet Pepsi and went to diet caffeine free Pepsi in an effort to cut out the soda.

I am mourning the loss of my diet Pepsi.

I love diet Pepsi.

My best bud. He will be the hardest to leave behind. If it gets too bad I will drink him flat occasionally.

:ohmy:I love Korean food....My mother (god rest her soul) lived there for 3 years and when she got back cooked us all kinds of that food. I have to say I love it. Mom absolutely loved it there. Sooo can you make some when you come here?

HA! I had a similar situation in my pre-op class, but not quite as severe. I just can't imagine going into something like and not being as prepared as possible, you know?

that being said, I had a dream I ate fried chicken last night. It was like I forgot about the sleeve and just tore in! Thank goodness it was just a dream!

I had a dream like that too, except it was a dinner roll. Probably just another symptom of the eating disease that I am having this surgery to help to overcome. (yes...HELP...not cure.) :001_tongue:

I know I am a food addict because I have been having dreams about food and eating since I started the intense dieting to lose the required weight before surgery. They come less often now though. When I quit smoking it was the same way. I dreamed about cigs. Now I only dream about smoking when I am really stressed out.

You may be surprised, attitudefree. I have heard several people say they didn't like the taste of coffee anymore after getting the sleeve. Our tastes change a lot. My tummy can't stand anything carbonated, it really upsets it.

I was sleeved on July 28. Prior to that I the most important event of my day was that first cup of coffee. This was followed by 5-6 cups at the office before lunch. I tried a cup yesterday morning and it didn't really appeal to me. So much for that.

Who knows how to make Korean food? I hope you don't think I do. I can barely cook. It's one reason I drink so many Protein Drinks.< /strong>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
