Uh oh! I am not having any preop testing done at all. My internist said I am young (36) and besides the weight healthy so I won't need anything besides labs. Should I be concerned?

I think everyone should have labs. How do you know if you are trending down in something, if you have no baselines? You don't want to wait until you are out of range to address problems. It's easier to come back if you haven't totally tanked.

Because of my pre-op labs, I started supplementing with Vitamin D, for example.

Hi

Thanks for the info - amnot really sure what to expect and probably wont know until I turn up in Belgium.

How long ago did you have your surgery?

How did you find the weeks post op? I have a holiday in Vegas four weeks after my op which I have to say I am not really looking forward to now, apart from being in a pair of jeans that might not cut me in two.

I'm 4 months out. At 7 weeks out, I started regular food and went to Vegas the next day. Um, the food part was frustrating. Still frustrating about 2 weeks later at Thanksgiving. But by Christmas, it was all good.

I think it was at about 12 weeks where I was okay with the amounts I could eat and didn't feel frustrated. Before that I could eat so little.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
