I took my mother and little brother to Souper salad, this is the first time since I had surgery on July 23rd I have been faced with a buffet. I ate my small salad and was satisfied but we were all talking and so I had some of the chili, then some Pasta salad. The result is the most awful pain in my chest almost like the gas pains from surgery plus my pouch hurts. I told them both this evening that I will not be able to go back. I am still learning but I am miserable and in pain.

I know you feel bad bu I think it is great that you have realized your limits. I think that is great progress. Hope you feel better soon!

There is no reason you can't go back- you certainly can. You just have to stop when you're satisfied, Had you stopped eating after the small salad, you'd have been fine. It isn't the type of food that caused you pain it's the over-eating that caused you pain.

It's a learning experience for the future :)

Best wishes.

After my last fill I sure can feel when I start to over eat or eat the wrong thing like something dry. I get my pain in my shoulder. It is horrible. I have really had to slow down when eating too. I never had much problem before but this last fill was a doozy.

That sucks that you are in pain, but also, that is GOOD that you are feeling the signs from the band, they help us know what works and what doesn't and how to modify for next time =)

I knew it was not necessarily what I ate but the amount. I am glad It happened because now I know. I can not say there will never be a next time but at least I can tell myself "you know what happens when you over do it." So I can put my fork/spoon down and know I am satisfied.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
