hi! I am 6 days post op and am getting tired of popsicles and Jello. Can anyone give me some other ideas for Clear Liquids until Tuesday? Thanks, Clare

I was able to go full liquids post-op. Anything that would go through a straw. Pre-op for clear liquids I sipped on 7-UP, used chicken boullion cubes to make broth, drank Water, apple juice and tea (hot or cold). For something you can actually bite into the only thingss I know are Jello and popsicles, but you can have basically anything you can see through. Good luck on your journey!

It's funny to me how it's so different from one doc to the next on how long patients stay on liquids. I have to do 2 weeks on clear liquids, 2 weeks on full liquids, then 2 weeks mushy food. I'm 8 days post op so I know what you mean Clare about being tired of Jello. Those Bill Cosby Jello comercial aren't so dang cute these days.....

I'll tell you what I have been eating and maybe it will give you some ideas. I am able to have milk and yogurt so that helps. I mix my milk with On's whey Protein powder I also add a little Hershey's Syrup once in a while. I'm sure the Hershey's is bad but I add very little, just enough to change the flavor. I am also drinking Dannon lite and fit smoothie's made with yogurt. I am tired of plain broth so once in a while I get egg drop Soup from the local Chinese place and just eat the broth. I am also eating Soups that have a clear broth and leaving ALL the chunks behind. Some of the soups I am straining out the veggies first and freezing them for homade Soup, or to add to caserole's later. Dole 100% juice popsicles are good. And as far a juice goes I bore easily with apple so I have been getting stuff like pomagranite juice, and cherry juice. I try and not eat the same thing twice in one day so it mixs it up a little.

Hope this helps!!

We are 5 days out from surgery. Doctor order 2 weeks clear and next two full liquids. Found Swanson or butterball canned broth much better tasting than cubes or others. Carb solutions from wal-mart give a chocolate taste and works well. I mix it with Water. It isn't clear in color but has almost the consistency of clear liquid. I supplement with small doses of Boost (wal-Mart) to keep the strength up. It is all about healing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
