UPDATE and Question!!!

Recommended Posts

I havent been on here in a while because my life has been pretty hectic lately. My Wife and myself are expecting twins soon so we have been trying to plan a baby shower and working on their new room, PLUS!! we are in the process of building a new home so needless to say with all that going on plus my Wife's hormones being in a fit I havent had time to look up. LOL!! Anyways,, I was banded June 21st 2013 and since then I have had 4 fills totaling 6 1/2 cc's and as a result I have lost 43lbs. ( I will try and post Updated pics soon) I am very happy with my progress but I am still waiting to achieve the all mighty GREEN ZONE!! My question is... How long did it take for you to achieve the GREEN ZONE? I have a certain amount of restriction but the food keeps going through the band after just a few seconds. I keep asking myself when will the food stop at the top and stay there so I can achieve fulness quicker? My Dr. says once I hit that mark the weight will melt off me. Thanks in advance.

I want to congratulate you on your upcoming twins birth! How exciting and emotional for both you and wife! The almighty "green zone' question, everyone is different, myself I was and stay at approximately 5 cc give or take a .1 of a cc. You know you might never achieve fullness, it is not what you are after. Satisfied, that is what you want! Fullness, like form Thanksgiving, is not comfortable, so not desirable. Best wishes on you journey and your babies!

Congratulations on both your weight loss and your babies! :)

It does take most people multiple people to reach the Green Zone. I was banded in January 2012 and didn't finally reach it until May 2012.

But, please keep in mind that food isn't supposed to sit above your band and is supposed to pass through almost immediately (less than a minute). So, don't use that as a gauge for whether or not you need another fill. Also, if you're eating until you're "full" you're likely eating too much. With the band and the Green Zone, it's all about hunger control.

Have a look at this link, I think it'll help: http://drsimpson.net/fills/Lap-band-eating/lap-band-not-restriction/lap-band-and-restriction.html

You're doing great!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
