Any other September 2013 bandsters?

I know it's early, but wondering if there's any one else getting ready to get banded in September? I have one more Ins required weigh in Aug 19 then my paperwork gets submitted for approval!

I was already told I'm on the schedule for September 27! Fingers crossed!

Sept 27 and am so excited

CONGRATS...I'M ON THE 27TH OF SEPTEMBER AS WELL!!! I am going tomorrow to pickup my protein shakes....I am super excited as well....keep us posted!!

I'm jealous of some of the diets ... If I could eat veggies & fruit it would blissful!!! But alas, I'm on 4-5 protein drinks, SF jello, SF Popsicles & broth.

My lap band is scheduled for September 25th. I'm both extremely excited and nervous all at the same time. I begin my pre-surgery diet on September 11th. I'm REALLY worried about it. For my diet I can have 2 protein shakes per day. One can/cup of soup(not cream based) or turkey chili. 1-2 snacks of fat free yogurt, cottage cheese, pudding or jello. And of course liquids like gatorade, tea, water, etc. Any feedback from people who have or are going through the pre-surgery diet would be greatly appreciated. Good luck to all!!!!!

Absolutely! I always have 8am appt times there not to many people at that time waiting to be seen :)

What part of the valley are you in? I'm north Phx by the 101 and 7th st

Awesome' date=' tbatch!!! That's great. I hope my recovery is as easy. What is is like to eat (actually, drink) things now?[/quote']

I don't have fluid in my band so there is little to no restriction, however I can feel it in my chest when I need to slow down and let it filter in down before I drink more. its like a feeling of needing to burp but can't. once the gas and bloating goes away I think I will be back to 100% me:)

Nice! I work in Tempe by Az Mill Mall. I called and left a message today with the medical director for the Ins that denied me! We shall see if e calls me back or not... I'm guessing it will be NOT!

I started my pre-op diet today (3 shakes/2 fruit/1 salad+protein), and started school. I had a hard time getting in my lunch time shake because there was just too much to do around the school. I ended up chugging it. I didn't get a chance to eat my evening snack (apple, pear, or orange) and my last shake yet. I am exhausted, but I think that's normal for me on the first day of school.

A few people commented on my weight loss already (about 30 lbs since June). I don't like people saying things, but I guess I'll have to get used to it, right? (I hope! LOL)

I didn't buy hardly any back to school outfits this year. I want to lose about 10-15 more lbs and "go shopping" in the back of my closet. LOL I have a bunch of 2x clothes hiding back there.

PS To Irish, I still have to do a double take since you look just like my friend. LOL!!!!

On my way to the hospital ! I can't believe it's finally here it seems unreal. Im glad this thread was started it has helped me go through my experiences with company. Good luck to all.

How did it go?

That's almost my diet to a "T"...except for the chili and i'm eating cream based soups as long as they are below 3g fat....

I'm on day #6 and down 10lbs...i have soooo much energy today its CRAZY.

I'm a grazer and like to eat all day and have found it to be doable....the head hunger got the best of me for about a day but im not really all that hungry!

Spacing is the key and so is keeping busy! I'm on it for 15 days prior to surgery with the last day clear liquids only.

Don't worry you can do it! Just take it one day at a time and keep your eye on the prize.

Im proud to say ive NOT slipped up even once...although licking the peanut butter knife while making my kids lunches is tempting....

Just knowing what i am going to do (the surgery) makes all that not so important right now...and hopefully for the long term.

Good luck and keep us posted!
