Any other September 2013 bandsters?

I know it's early, but wondering if there's any one else getting ready to get banded in September? I have one more Ins required weigh in Aug 19 then my paperwork gets submitted for approval!

I was already told I'm on the schedule for September 27! Fingers crossed!

Thanks so much! Good luck to you as well

I had my surgery this am! I'm in pain in my stomach ugh it's so very uncomfortable! I don't know how I am going to sleep in bed ugh!! Hopefully it goes away tomorrow! Good luck to all

I had my surgery Tuesday am. I had a lot of pain and some vomiting due to the anesthesia, but once that worked its way out of my system, I felt worlds better. Now I just have mild stomach pain which I expected and some gas discomfort. But moving around, heating pad, and not laying flat for too long (I sleep on 3 pillows to help) has made the residual gas pains bearable and I feel better everyday. I also could only fall asleep for a few hours at a time that first day/night and had to sleep sitting up. But that passed after the first day.

I'm getting ready to head to the hospital!! Wish me luck!

Lsail, good luck! Please be well and let us know how it goes!

Every day surgery gets closer I get more nervous :/ I know once I'm asleep it will be official... I'm terrified. Lol

Me too. I getting more nervous the closer Tuesday gets here. Like its getting for real now. :-)

Since August 1st I have lost about 30lbs. I can't believe my own will power. I know the band will only help me keep it off, whereas if I went it alone I would be back to 300 or even more in no time. I have to keep playing this in my head so I don't either chicken out or give up!

What did people have for broths? I'm just having chicken from top ramen broth but it was a lot of sodium, so I'm nervous it might be bad for me? Another week and 2 days on this liquid diet. I don't like the protein shakes because I don't like sweet things. If I do one it's usually a pb one (I use PB2 powder so it doesnt have all the fat in it).

I'd love any other easy broth recipes!

You too!

Start of week 2's pre-op diet and I AM STARVING!!!! I have already eaten everything allotted for the day except my last shake. I'm saving that for after my workout. What can I do??? I've already drunk a ton of water.

I am scheduled for 9/26 and very excited! Feeling a tad anxious too! Just trying to get everything I need before hand. I have seen a lot of people on a clear liquid diet before surgery but I've been instructed to do Sugar Busters 2 weeks prior. It's interesting to see the differences in pre op requirements. Good luck to all! I will take any advice anyone has as well! Thanks!

No pre-diet' date=' my doctor says i dont need it but I work for a vitamin company that makes a secure soy and secure whey protein drink powder mix so I plan to start on my own the week before surgery to start getting my mind in the game. My boyfriend took me back to Minnesota to meet his family - I had a great time! I've been eating like I will never get to again after surgery though and feel I need to start changing my mindset soon so I'm ready again for what lies ahead![/quote']

I'm the 26th!

Hot things helped fill me up. Maybe some hot tea or broth. Broth was especially satisfying--it was kind of reminiscent of actual food!

I will say that I haven't been doing any kind of vigorous workouts during my pre-op diet. I've done a bit of walking and normal light housework, but I didn't want to try any vigorous workouts because I didn't want to get too hungry and also because it's hard enough powering a 300+ lb body on less than 1,000 calories a day without adding an extra 300-500 calorie burn on top of it. It might be worth talking to your doctor to see what they're expecting for exercise during the pre-op diet. They might not be expecting you to work out, or might instruct you to eat a bit more to compensate.
