Irish. I am so sorry. Do not give up!

What I posted on the "crushed" thread I created today

So I will tell you all the reasons I should have the band-

BMI of 55

Heart attack at age 32 I am 34 now

High BP

Depression

Pseudotumor Cerebri with severe papillo edema

Hx of Pulmonary embolisms

Pre Diabetic

Reason Aetna denied me today-

I gained 1.8 pounds since May!- they said they would have denied me with even an ounce gain. They implemented this new rule this month. I have been jumping through the Ins hoops for four months now.

I was suppose to get banded Sept 27 instead I have two more weigh ins

I am crushed.

I'm so sorry. That's terrible news, and seems so counterproductive!

I am so sorry !! You'll get through this don't give up ! I know how you feel - Today I was denied because I was under 200 lbs in 2009! 5 years ago ! I need a note from a doctor saying I was over 200lbs in 2009 and signed and then ill be approved. But I'm not giving up ! Going to the doctor in the morning to see if they'll sign it ! Maybe you can have a few more weigh ins for them to approve it? Do what you can to start a new chapter in your life ! We are here for support :)

I'm so sorry irishflower78 about your setback :(.

I also received my denial letter this week...

However, I've decided to pay for it myself under a program where i pay 1/3 down and $100 a month until remainder is paid. I took the deposit 1/3 out of my 401k - It seems worth it to me - I'm investing in my health! My surgery date is official set for 9/27/13.

Every time I read a post like this I thank God my husband is retired military. I have to pay $25, but only had to get a referral from pcp and the surgeon requires the nutritionist and psych appt. I wish I could share insurance with you. Seems like they should weigh the cost of not having surgery vs the cost of having it. If they did I'm sure many more would be approved

Did you talk to the true results people about financing and possible hernia as a way to get some money from the insurance toward surgery. That is how I am getting it.

We are going to jump through a couple more hoops and if they deny me again then I will go the self pay route.

I already have a loan out through my 401k so not sure I will be able to borrow anymore until that's paid off :( only time will tell

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
