Your bariatric care provider would be the best person to answer this question. Best of luck.

Thanks. I am not banded yet and I am not pregnant yet either but I always like to plan ahead and look at all the angles of things.

my doc left it up to me. said if i could eat enough to nourish me and baby, no issues. i had to do a partial unfill during the last few weeks of the first trimester. was getting stuck on everything. when i gave birth i still had 3.5CC in a 10CC band, but he would have taken it all out if i had asked. still at 3.5cc at this point.

I have always had to have a full unfill during my pregnancies but I usually waited to be re-filled until after I was done breastfeeding. As long as you are able to maintain a healthy amount of calories, not vomiting and your baby is gaining weight, then there is no reason you couldn't get a fill or two, or remain filled after pregnancy and into breastfeeding. Good luck and I think its great you're ahead of the game and doing research!! :)

Thanks. I think I am going to be one of those people who has an unfill when I am pregnant. I would be worried that I wouldn't get enough nutrition otherwise. Thank you so much for your input and for thinking it is good I like to think ahead most people just think it is weird.

I had a full unfill about 6 weeks into my pregnancy due to intense morning sickness. My band doc recommended that I come back 4-6 weeks after the baby is born to get an initial fill. While, I will not go right back to where I was I think that most doctors just focus on you getting enough calories (for you and baby) regardless of fill level. From what I have seen on here everybody has a different fill level during and after baby it is really between you and your doc.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
