My RN says it is ok to have some "real" non diet stuff.......sometimes. But always count it in your calories for the day. and always forgive yourself.

We all cheat at some time. Just start a new day with a new goal.

Thank you, so tomorrow I am going to say that I am not going to cheat anymore.

I guess im confused on how you "cheated ?" Because you ate something that wasn't healthy ? Welcome to the real world ! Nobodys diet is perfect, my own Dr said as long as I ate healthy 95 % of the time, id be fine. He was right, and I include a treat every day in my daily amount of food. I had 2 chocolate chip Cookies today , mmmmm ! What did you "cheat " with ?

cheese Itz and Sour patch kids are hard to resist! I so understand where you are coming from, take each day slowly and just try your hardest. We all fall, but its about how quickly you get back up that matters. Don't linger on what you did just think about how you can stop your self from doing again! You can do it! xx

Well, I wouldn't go that far, but I would make a vow to not cheat the rest of this week and start each day with the same vow. Before being banded I started each day with a new diet and told myself I wouldn't cheat and then I'd cheat. Breaking vows can become too easy so don't go too hard on yourself, once your band is adjusted, you'll not even think about cheating most days.

Don't even get me around jalapeno Cheetos. I'm gone :o

We all do it! (don't even ask me about the Peanut Butter Cookies I baked a few weeks ago...OY!!) The best thing to do is to not get down on yourself, and just keep moving forward.

I love Cheez-it's could eat boxes of them before banding... one of the things I noticed since being banded is that I can eat something bad but don't go crazy.. My Dr. said, eat what you want but track your calories . I know that things like chips, cheez-it's etc. will trigger my bad behavior so I try to stay away from them..Sometimes I eat a few chips from my grandkids lunches. I eat wheat thins sometimes with my chicken salad.. but they are only 130 calories for 16.. so I dole out my 16 and that's it.. You will be fine, just keep your eye on the prize...

Stop thinking of it as cheating! It's just calories. If you eat it, write it down and move on. "Cheating" implies that you are on a diet, which you are not. In order to be successful in the long run with your band, you need to make lifestyle changes.

Just my opinion.

Agreed....I tell myself that I am not dieting. I always failed on diets. I count every calorie including the bad ones and I just know I have eat light and well the rest of the day. I like that, with the band, even if I do eat something that isn't particularly healthy, I won't eat near what I use to. It's a wonderful tool. I also remember that I will need to get on the treadmill a little longer :)

At the same time?!?!?! :wacko::blink::P

The fact that you realize and regret it means you will be ok. We have all slipped up... you get back on track and punish yourself with an extra 10 min on treadmill, an extra couples sets of weights, or one more walk around the block.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
