I could have written this brittani! I had my first breakdown cry yesterday as well. I am getting frustrated with wanting to eat but can't' date=' and when I have what I can eat, I feel tightness in my band and like my port is pulling. I think I just needed to get my boo hoos out but I seriously said to my hub that if this is how it feels to eat for the rest of my life, I will get the band taken out! And of course, because I was feeling down about it, all I wanted to do was eat the wrong stuff... Which just makes me feel more frustrated and hungry! But I have woken up today feeling better. It's definitely a roller coaster ride :)[/quote']

Hang in there! I hope it gets better for you! Not looking forward to the depression. Hang in there!

Dear. Friends I am in my first week of preop and I'm getting so tired of having only three thins shakes chicken broth iced tea. My second week I might keep busier writing or doing paperwork. I have a sore on the roof of my mouth. I want to eat something. I'm not suppose to have pop but I've had 3 cans this week. My dh won't get me another since so close to surgery. Eat....it's really on my mind.

I think it is a good idea for you to write or do something else to keep your mind busy. Try the shake recipices that musica posted they look good and might help you break your slump.

How is everyone doing that got their surgery earlier this month?!

I had surgery the 6th and am doing great. I felt better today than I had. It is definitely a process but a worth while one. Keep us up to date on your project.

Oops stupid phone. Preop.

If you want a really yummy recipe for your shakes - here are a couple: cherry cheese cake- use 1 scoup vanilla protein' date=' 8oz milk, 1 tablespoon sugar free cheese cake pudding mik, 1/2 c. Frozen cherries, ice is optional. Blend in your blender. It is yummy!

Another- reeses peanut butter: 1 scoup chocolate protein powder or 1 vanilla with 1 teaspoon cocoa powder, 8 oz milk or almond milk, 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter, a packet or 2 splenda, and ice optional. Blend together.

These are two that I have found very yummy. My dietitian gabe me several protein shake recipes so I don't have to br drinking the same thing all the time and I have been very grateful! Each of these will give you st least 30g protein per shake.[/quote']

I use pb2 so much less fat but all the peanut butter flavor!

Thanks everyone! I will give them a try. I like the recipes. They look good. I will go to walmart and get the whey Brittini. The 30 g per serving will be good.

Check out bariatricfoodie.com for amazing protein shake recipes. I LOVE the peanut brittle!

Thanks for all your support. I have to be at the hospital at 7am and obviously I'm not falling asleep.

I had to be there at 6 am and there was no sleep for me I had to get up at 4 because they wanted me to shower before surgery with antibacterial soap. But good luck to you! It's a journey but just have to be in the right mind set

I am feeling better today. I was able to start regular food thank ya Jesus! And I notice I'm staying fuller longer. But after I seen my doctor Tuesday and talked to him I felt alot better. He said if you're hungry between meals eat we don't want you starving yourself..and once my band starts to get filled then I won't be hungry he said its all normal right now. I don't go for my first fill until sept 10 and my surgery was July 30. Tonight we went out for dinner and I got a beef and cheese chimichanga and I only ate half so now I have another meal :) I will get use to this

It's time! Excited! See you all on the other side ; )

You go for it girl. You'll do just fine. Mine is a week from now. Today am heading for tampa to get my blood workup and all that paperwork out of the way before surgery. So you will be on the other side. Be well. Take those pain meds and remember it's a healthy start to a new life.

My doc said sugar free/diet pop was fine to drink on pre-op and I drank gallons of it! It was my savior :)
