Day 8 of a two week protein shake diet and I went to go get an EGD. My throat hurts so bad that I can't even think about swallowing any type of shake. Thank goodness I have a hernia so insurance will pay for some of this. Next move is lap band on the 22nd. I am down 8 lbs. yay!!

I also went to get my EGD and also have a hernia, could you explain what you mean by your insurance play some of this? i would LOVE for my insurance to pay more! haha

Apparently my hernia is only mild, but i also have inflammation in my stomach! who knew! How do they plan to deal with yours! have a great day! keep me posted!

Congrats! I'm glad you finally have a date. I was banded a week and half ago and am feeling great. The first seven days were hard (the gas pains in my shoulder were wicked) but it does get easier and I'm sooo happy I've done it.

Do you think i'll be back in commission after 5 days? unfortunately my life is requiring me to return, rather i want to or not!!!

My insurance will not pay because my bmi is less than 40. They will pay for hernia repair so I pay for the band but not entire procedure. A little less money out of pocket

I called the office this morning and they said it was due to the port being attached to the muscle. It comes and goes' date=' but it is real sharp, sometimes burning. Dr. Said if it worsens to call. I was curious if it was a common symptom. I just hope it doesn't last a long time.[/quote']

I'm sure it will pass. Maybe a hot pack and some ibuprofen would help?

Well I didn't have a hernia repair but for me I didn't start to feel human again till day 7.

I kept feeling better each day but I know my doctor said no lifting over five pounds. Three days after my surgery I had to go get recertified for my job and the class was four hours long. I mean if your talking about going back to work I say it depends on the kind of work you do. If you have an office job it should be ok you may just have to get up and stretch some.

I think everyone is different but just take it easy the 5 days you are off.

What a night at the hospital. I had the lap band surgery & a hernia repair. Very sore. However; I'm on cloud nine since I have had this done. Can't wait to get home! Thank you for the well wishes ; )

I'm scheduled to be banded on August 22. It's so great to have a group of people who are all going through the same thing! I've been reading all your posts and I feel like I know you guys already!

Congrats! Very exciting time! We are all here for you, for support! Sending well wishes your way!

I was just banded on the 14th and I must say that I am not feeling too bad! Walking does help. I did have the pain in my left shoulder but it was mild...most of my pain is around my port. It is true what they say that every day gets better. Again, I started at 317. I weighed myself yesterday and I am currently at 288...very proud of myself.
