  1. Hi All. It's been awhile. I'm wondering how everyone's doing. I'm still at the 20lbs that I lost right after surgery. I just got my second fill and now have a total of 5cc. Does that sound like the right amount to start feeling some restriction?
  2. Good luck Donna450. Will this be your first fill?
  3. First fill was today and it wasn't that bad. 3.8cc. Clear liquids for 2 days, full liquids for another 2 days and then back to eating. The positive here is that 4 days on a liquid diet should get my weight loss going again ???„
  4. How's everyone doing? Surgery was 8/15 and tomorrow is my first fill. I lost about 20lbs by Day 12 postop and haven't lost anything since. Still feeling a little discouraged and now nervous for the fill tomorrow. What will it feel like? Will it hurt??

Hi Ashley2369. 125lbs is awesome!!! I hope to get to those results. I live in Tampa and was just banded on Aug 15. I'm only down about 17lbs (did that in the first 2 weeks) and am feeling a little frustrated. Unfortunately I don't know of any local support groups, my only support has been this website. I'm so thankful I found it. Ps. I love Ellenton outlets. Lol
  6. Thanks Angemc. Yeah I hadn't thought about my cycle effecting it. My cycle has been all screwy since I started the preop diet so I guess that's possible. Today I got on the scale and gained another 1.5lbs and yesterday I actually ended up at just under 800 calories. I don't get it. I obviously burn more than 800 calories a day just being alive not to include all the walking and whatnot at work. I need to start seeing numbers coming down not going up or even stalling out. I could do that without the band. Lol!!!
  7. Today is the start of Day 13 Post-Op. I feel a million times better but I've stopped losing weight. I'm still on full liquid diet and not even consuming 800 calories a day so why no weight loss? I was stuck for 3 days at the same weight and then this morning......I GAINED back a pound. How's that possible? Anyone else have a similar experience?
  8. Thank you Healthydnp & Brittani87. Yeah, I just started full liquids after a week of clear liquids. And I've really been wondering if I did the right thing or if I'll ever be able to eat again. My diet said I could have really really soupy oatmeal so I had some this morning, thinking it would be good for my body to get something like real food, and that made me soooo sick. I was so nausea that I couldn't get out of bed for hours. I'm supposed to go back to work on Monday and I'm scared to death because of how horrible I feel. Am I just expecting too much too soon?
  9. How's everyone doing? I'm 8 days post-op and im still having a hard time. Need to know if anyone else has felt like this. I feel really weak from not eating but then if I have something I get nausea and just feel horrible for hours afterward. I had my first follow up today and the Doc said everything looks great but I don't feel great. Is this just me?

    How is everyone doing??

Thanks so much Soccorturtle. When did you have your surgery? How are you feeling today? Are you eating yet?

    How is everyone doing??

Ps. Maybe I'll try the antacid thing and see if that helps at all.

    How is everyone doing??

Hi Angemc.......this is so crazy. I mean I keep saying "eating" but the truth is its only Fluid. Shouldn't fluid go right past the band? Why does it make me feel so horrible to have a half bowl of broth? Is like I feel horrible all the time, I can't win. I feel horrible from not eating, headaches and hunger pains and then I feel horrible when I do "eat". Maybe I'm just pushing too hard, trying to feel normal too soon. Today is Day 5 post-op.......and it's been my crying day. I've been crying all day. Crying wondering if I did the right thing, crying that I won't feel better, crying because everything I see seems to do with food and all I want to do is eat something. I must say that being apart of this forum has helped ALOT. I've only told 4 people in my life about the surgery and 2 of them live more than 1,000 miles away and non of them have ever gone through anything like this. Without you guys I would truly be all alone in this. Heck today was the first day I actually told my Mom about the surgery. Soccerturtle.......Congratulations on your 12lbs. That's awesome!! You must be proud of yourself.

    How is everyone doing??

4 days post-op. ugh!!! So not feeling well right now. Not sure if I'm "eating" to much broth at night and maybe that's what's making me feel so yucky at night or what but during the day I'm starving and at night I feel horrible. What am I doing wrong?
  15. I'm a side sleeper so I had to figure it out. The first night I had to sleep on my right side but by night 3 I was able to lay on my left side too. I had to be gentle when getting into and out of that position but its working. Now I have to deal with this liquid diet. It feels like it will be FOREVER before I make it to mushy foods. All I want is some mashed sweet potatoes or something. That sounds kinda sad huh. A week and a half left till mushies.......and I'm starving!!
  16. Awwwww Brittani87, Im so sorry to hear that. Please let us know how the swallow test goes and how you're feeling. We're all here for you my dear. Sending you much bandsters love!!!
  17. Ok, just woke up from my 2nd night post-op. Didn't have any pain meds for the entire day yesterday so finally having pain meds is helping ALOT!!! Ok so question guys....Clear liquid diet consists of??? So far I've only had water, apple juice and chicken broth. Is there anything else I can have? Not sure how I'm going to make it an entire week of this. Stomach growling :-(
  18. Thanks for all your support. I have to be at the hospital at 7am and obviously I'm not falling asleep.
  19. Musica73, you are so right. For me this journey began when I found out my Mom was diagnosed with Diabetes. I have struggled with my weight since after High School and off and on again with diets but her diagnosis was when I realized that I need to make a real permanent change. It's just so crazy jumping into the unknown.
