Lack of energy and some pain is completely normal. I napped off and on for two days after surgery and the gas pain was unbearable at times but within 5 days I was good. If you are concerned definitely do not hesitate you check in with your Doctor.

Yes - the fatigue is totally normal. Anesthesia alone can do a number, not to mention that you just a major surgery. That, and the complete & total change in diet.

Rest when you need to, and just know that this will pass. If it becomes an ongoing issue, call your doctor.

Also, I found walking as often as I could helped clear up those gas pains...

Someone else on this site told me to have Mylicaon drops and Gas x on hand before the surgery. (mine is monday so I am getting everything this weekend) Same person also said she sucked on those very soft melt in your mouth mints (puffy red and white ones). I'll be thinking of you...Lisa

Thank you all so much for the help. I did call the doctor and she said if it didn't improve I could come in. I was in the hospital for 4 days as it is. I have no veins left even if I needed hydration. I figured being only on clear liquids would be tough..

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
