Hi there, congratulations on your banding..........I am on week 3 of the liquids and I have been making home-made soup........they are really easy, and I am not the best cook so even I can do them.........yesterday was bacon and pumpkin Soup, and today is curried cauliflower.........last week I made chicken soup with a whole chicken simmered in stock and vegies last week, then pulled the chicken out, pulled the meat off and blended it back with the stock after I had skimmed the fat off the stock.

I also made the effort to drag out my juice blender.............hasn't been used in ages hehehe, my faves are carrot, apple and pineapple........and celery, carrot and apple.

Hope this helps a bit

Amourette:clap2: :clap2:

Hey Houstoncg,

Welcome to bandland. I was banded on Monday! You should check out the "May 2006 Band Crew" thread. It's a great place to find support and people to go through the process with.

I have been "eating" (term used VERY loosly) mostly yogurt smoothies, whdy Protein shakes, and some yummy cream potato cheese Soup (blended very well). I am going to try blending some bean with bacon soup for dinner tonight. Someone told me that was good.

How are you feeling? Most of us who had surgery this week are feeling a little better each day. How are you eating/drinking? Those of us who have been posting are having varying degrees of success/struggles in this area. One person has even resorted to making Protein ice cubes to try to get her protein in -- I thought that was pretty inventive!

I have been lucky. I am getting my protein and Water and other nutrients in without too much trouble.

I think it was definately worth getting the band if, for no other reason, than I have more hope about eventually leading a healthy active lifestyle than I have had in years. I am especially inspired by looking at the "before and after pictures" on this site.

Good luck and keep posting!

Yes, it is worth it. Some people have all kinds of restriction after surgery and are full on Clear Liquids. Not me. I was starving before and right after surgery. I mean STARVING. Get your Protein in. That helps. You can add unflavored Protein Powder (I use Unjury but there are others) to your clear liquids and it helps. Once you get to full liquids have Protein Shakes. That helps a lot, too.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
