I'd ask my Dr for something for the nausea....

That's probably what I'm going to do. I make homemade meats for my daughter and I puree them and I can't even fathom eating. I almost tried it one day and just got so nauseas.

Although I think she's a bit, well, batty from time to time, my nutritionist recommended getting some canned, white meat chicken (or good canned tuna, if you're into it) and flake it all out (I mean, it's already pretty flaky anyway) and mash it up some more with a fork or whatever. You can season it to some degree, and it might have a little more agreeable texture than the meat slurry (if you will) a food processor or blender might yield. That is the direction I'm headed.

Personally, if I only had the choice of puréed meat, I'd just buy deviled ham or potted meat (as we call it in the south). It'd provide some meat Protein, but the source is, at best, questionable providence.

I can't bare the thought either. I've been sticking to hummus, yogurt, cottage cheese, refried Beans and mashed regular and sweet potatoes. If I need more Protein I'll keep drinking shakes. A week is too short to resort to blended meat :-)

I've had no problem. My daughter bought me a book called Eating well after Weight Loss Surgery. It was written by a chef that also happened to have LapBand. The recipes are yummy. She has recommendations for each recipe as to when you can start it and guidelines about how much to purée and so forth. I made a turkey burger in which after grilling I cut in half and then puréed with a Greek yogurt sauce. The next day took the other half and puréed with BBQ sauce! It was very satisfying!

Most recipes are broken down into LapBand, bypass and sleeve then broken down to week 1, 2, 3, 4...

if you are hungry, you will eat....pureed or not..that is how i see it..like guy, i stuck with refried Beans, fruits etc.there are alot of options out there..i didnt over think things and in my opinion, its a mindset on this little post op stage...its just for a short time and overthinking it or coming at it (will it make me gag or choosing baby food over real people food) wont help...stick to the options available and do the best you can..its all you can do.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
