Unfill? When do you say I need it?

I am at 5.8 ccs of a 10 cc band and I am a week out from my last fill.

I am having trouble drinking my Protein shakes and Water - I can sometimes get things down just fine (over the weekend I ate what I needed) but for the last 2 days I have had multiple spells of throwing up even after drinking only water.

Need some guidance all

Hi Smiles! Do you know how small or big of a fill you received? Also, did you transition with liquids to solids after your fill? It'll help me answer your qs :)

Certainly a call to your doctor is in order.

BUT, maybe.. you irritated your band area over the weekend and just need another day or so of clear liquids to let some inflamation go down.

If you can't get clear liquids down....you should do your best to be seen NOW....like tonight or tomorrow at the latest. dehydration is nothing you want to mess with....IMO.

I went from 5.3 to 5.8 in my last fill so a .5 fill. I ate ok after it over the weekend etc but the last 2 days have been brutal - my friend (fellow bander) thinks my stress level is also causing some of it but I just want this to be a healthy wls journey and not get sick because I am not getting my protein in.

Call your doctor. Let him decide. He's the expert and that's what you pay him for.

Have to agree with the other comments...

Throwing up Water? I'm deathly afraid of stressing my stomach around the band because of erosion and slips.

If you are throwing up water, it seems like there is a risk to the band because of the stomach working so hard, churning, contracting, etc... trying to get things by the band. With it moving so much, wouldn't that increase the risk of a slip or erosion?

Not to scare at all. I think you will be fine, but probably not something to mess with in my opinion.

I would go in and have some removed if throwing up water.

Short term solution would be to try liquid motrin to help with the swelling. Calling your doc and going on liquids only would be my first actions.

I am at the doc for an unfill - will keep you all posted. I got scared with not being able to hold down water plus I have lost 6 lbs in one week and not able to hold down food since Tuesday --- got to be healthy first...

Although my skirt falling off when I put it on this morning was a great feeling :)

I bet all you need is .2or .3 and it will be a big difference! Was for me.

My last fill was .25 ! Not even sure if that's a big one or a small one

Did it happen right after your fill ? I got mine on Tuesday ! Took a few days to get to normal. But everything goes down nothing comes up. The only issues I have is the tightness a little when I eat and extra salavia since the fill !! But nothing comes back up !

Ok so total loss was 9.6 lbs in one week so needless to say I was a bit dehydrated.

They took .4ccs out so since my last fill was .5ccs they removed all but .1cc.

I am happy to report I can drink Water now - got some Gatorade as well :)

I am calling tomorrow for a slight un fill!

I have never had such pain when eating.

Thank god no vomiting and stuff. But I was triing to wait but I never had problems with fills.

I had a similar experience and dehydration is no fun. Don't be surprised if you gain a bit of what you lost back with proper hydration. I am glad you are better and got it taken care of!

Glad to her that you are feeling better. good to drink Gatorade to get your electrolytes back, too!
