Why is it that some days I can eat more and without a problem?

Like yesterday BBQ I ate really good...

Today .. No way!! Nothing!!

It happens to me often ...

Any idea why this happens??

Some times I get scared thinking of maybe slip!

But then the next day I can't even eat half a cup of food :-/

Help anyone else experiencing this?

Any info appreciated

Thanks!

Not enough info to really help you? Depends on what you are eating? The band won't stop you from eating too much. It can help you feel more satisfied, sooner.

You still have a stomach so you can eat slider foods till the cows come home. It still stretches to accommodate large quantities of food. You can choose to ignore the signals your pouch/band is sending that you're no longer hungry and you can stop eating. We all love food so in some environments we can't turn off those eating demons who encourage us to eat till we're in a coma.

My band tightness varies with stress and sometimes time of day. Nearly always tight in the mornings. Talk to your surgeon if the problems continue.

I guess what I mean is .... I ate a chicken thigh some chips salsa n some cabbage salad perfectly fine... This was yesterday

Today... I made some chicken Alfredo one bit n it was stuck I had to drink a Protein shake n it goes down really slow... That was today around 12 noon central time ... I'm having coffee now because I feel that if I try agin it's going to get stuck ...

Mine is tight in the morning, but I've also found that humidity seems to make it tighter, along with stress and that time of the month. Some people say allergies can also tighten their bands.

Yes I have been banded 6 1/2 years and some afternoons are fine and some. ??? Keeping enough Water in me helps. One day to the next. I don't know. Once my band is irritated I have to back off for a day. AMs I'm not hungry and food is hard for me. Maybe a Protein Drink. Or 1/2 a banana. But not till 2-3-4 is my band open and I can have a meal. Just me. But it does sound a bit like you too???

I sounds like you're just tight enough, but, consuming processed carbs in chips and sweets along with lots of sodium can cause your entire body to swell. It won't take much swelling to make your band too tight.

Most of the foods you ate on Memorial day sound like slider foods. Dark chicken meat slides through much easier than white breast meat. I wouldn't be overly concerned and you don't sound like you've had a slip at all.

Another item to consider as the degree of restriction of you band fluctuates is your stress and/or level of anxiety.

Over the past few months I have encountered some major life events, not the least of which Is my son's imminent deployment. The resulting stress led to a complete unfill of my band. I did have a small quantity of Fluid replaced in my band, and there are still days when it takes me an hour to get a Protein shake in.

Prior to the recent major events in my life, I also noticed that sipping Water while driving became difficult while adding the stress of being out on the roads with other drivers. I have noticed a pattern of stress created tightness in my band, along with recent increased reflux.

The restriction we feel with our band does have the ability to fluctuate from day to day. I'm still on that learning curve more than a year after having my band placed.

I too experience being tight one day and not the next. I've been very concerned that I was too tight so I had a slight un-fill and believe I didn't want to. My doctor told me it was most likely tighter from stress and I have been under a lot of stress lately. Also I was stressing there may be something wrong with my band and that made it even worse yet. Needless to say with my slight un-fill I can eat so much more and have to go back to the doctor in a couple days to get filled. I was in the green zone and need to get back and try not to stress so much. I also asked my doctor about humidity and allergies causing me to be tight and she said that was not possible.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
