Together can you look to make healthier meals and share cooking together? Set a meal plan at the beginning of the week to allow the shopping and people take turns to cook. Proviso is they can pick the meal, it just needs to contain lean Protein and vegetables. Make it like a competition to see each week who's meal was the best? No doubt everyone's health and nutrition may increase, key thing for you to watch in addition is Portion Control.< /p>

Cooking isnt' the problem, the liquid diet is the problem. Im on liquids their on solids and I'm not cooking at all, not touching the kitchen. However, I find myself in there a lot....for the wrong reason. My problem isn't hunger is addiction.

Well tonight was better, I ate a black olive and one nacho. Someone suggested replacing the shake with three eggs scrambled and that really helped. Part of the problem is that I am not a sweet eater. I hate them actually, so taking away my salty goodness is killing me! When I got home today I had some brothe and that really helped. Thanks for all the support, I'm hoping this is just a process and tomorrow I wont snack at all! I keep reminding myself why I am doing it but I cease to care when the food is in my mouth. It's hard to change 30 years worth of bad eating habits in 48 hours. I am trying and I can do this, I will not give up!

It's great that you are coming to this site for support. The pre-op diet is tough but necessary.

The purpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink your liver in preparation for your surgery. The liver has to be moved to place your band and a large, fatty liver is very difficult to manipulate.

So, hang tough but know that it is temporary, necessary and worthwhile.

Don't be too hard on yourself! We are all addicts. Alcoholics/drug addicts don't have to consume their drug of choice to survive like we do. Drink lots and lots of fluids and maybe leave the house when the family eats.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
