Year Mark Approaching

Recommended Posts

I haven't posted in awhile... but here goes

Seems like only yesterday I was on my pre op diet getting nervous about surgery. My band anniversary date is fast approaching (June 5th). I've lost 71lbs, which is great. Although, sometimes I feel as if I would have done some things differently along the way which in turn could have lead to greater success by my band anniversary. My starting weight was 408 and I currently weigh 337... My surgeon had set a 1 yr band goal of 287lbs which with a little more than a month to go is impossible. With that being said, I still want to try like hell to get closer to it. Any advice on a jump/kick start or words or encouragement are always welcomed. :)

You have done FANTASTIC!!! Honestly, there is a HUGE learning curve with this. It doesn't come natural for people to learn to eat with a devices wrapped around their stomach. With what you have managed to learn over the span of this last year will greatly help you over the following years. Celebrate your success. You deserve it. 71 lbs is huge. Took me 2 years to lose 70. And the first year and a half was extremely discouraging.

71 lbs. You have kicked ass this year. Sincerely. Look at what you have done so successfully!!!

Agree with above poster, I too took 2 years to go from 283 to 222 so hang in there sista your doing awsome Remember everyone is different. I learned along time ago not to compare myself to others on here when it comes to how much you lose. We are all different. Heck any weight loss is a loss. Good Luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
