Can you relate???

Hi everyone, I feel compelled to post this morning about where I am in my journey. For the first time in years, I feel so free to be me. As I have lost weight over the past year and a half, I have gone through so many stages. First there was the "can I do this stage" then the "you mean I have to work at this too stage" then the "whos that girl in the mirror stage".

Now, I feel so free to be me. I tucked my shirt into jeans and wore a belt. I wore a cute Easter dress to church. I spent so many years hiding from the world and hiding from myself. I tried every diet in the book, I really tried, then cried, got mad, gave up, and gained.

I am so thankful for lapband surgery. It has changed my life in more ways than just losing weight. The person that has always been on the inside is making her way out.

Have a wonderful journey,

Jackie O.

Thank you for posting this. There are ppl here on the fence, if this is for them or not. Nice to have an uplifting story.

LOL, Your stages are so true, but you forgot the one , minutes after surgery "what the heck did I do to myself"lol Good thing it only last a short time.

Thanks again!

I am 6 weeks post op and had a 2nd fill yesterday. I am just so thrilled that my life doesn't revolve around what my next meal is and how it will taste and how bad I will feel afterward. I was in the green after the first fill and that makes me ecstatic. 26 pounds. I feel amazing. I love working out and have actually made it a priority each adn every day. My clothes are already giant on me. I went through all those stages too.

Great story! I started to giggle because there is nothing better than being able to start tucking shirts in and wearing belts! Your clothes options become endless! Congratulations!!!

I have not been banded yet (still working on it) but everything that you talked about, I have felt. When I first started to think about surgery to lose weight I always thought Can I do this? I long for the day to be freed from my fat suit and my disease of obesity. I just hope that I can get banded and be a success story like you. Keep up the great work and NEGU (Never Ever Give Up)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
