This pain is much worse than I expected. My stomach keeps contracting and giving me these sharp pains. The only thing I can imagine it being is gas. I just hope it's normal and will go away shortly. I have been trying to walk as much as possible but I'm still having the l pain. I'm also nauseous every now and then. Did anyone else experience this?

I had terrible back pain for 2-3 days but other than that I was ok. Are you on pain meds? That could be causing the nausea.....

Yes I am on pain medication, although it doesn't seem to do much for me.

Yes! Day 3 I was so nautious. It was frm the pain medication. I stopped taking it and had got some liquid children's Tylenol. Felt tons better afterwards. By day 5 I was able to get out of the house and and going back to work tmrw day 7. The pain medication worked for day 1-2 then made me so sick. I recommend trying the children's Tylenol, doesn't taste bad either (:

People say a warm shower helps the gas release from the body. They pump you up full of gas to expand your insides so they can see in there for surgery. If your shoulder hurts, that's usually why.

I felt it was hell days 1 through 7. On day 7 though I started suspecting the milk in the shakes and stopped drinking them. Day 8 was so much better and days 9 and on have been 100% gas and pain free. Thinking it's coincidence, but thought I would mention it.

Thank you all for your responses. It means a lot. As I'm sure you all know this is a rough time, not knowing what to expect and what is and isn't normal. So again, thank all of you.

I'm also at day three, and finding that the liquid Vicodin is making my dizzy. Was great the first couple of days, but today I'm switching to extra strength Tylenol.

How long did it take everyone to have their energy back? This tired feeling is such a drag. I suspect that once the Vicodin is out of my system, I'll feel much better.

I had surgery last Sunday (24/03) and had the same discomfort. I was in bits on Tuesday - had pains in my neck, jaw, shoulders, upper arms! I started to walk on the treadmill for 15 mins at a time 3 times a day and yesterday had a shower and went out for a walk. Feel so much better for it today.

During the surgery they pump in Co2 gas to gain access to your stomach and are unable to take it all out before being stitched up so, your body has to absorb/expel the gas over hte days following the surgery. best of luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
