Full Liquids...for 11 more days

Recommended Posts

Hey Everyone!

I'm post op day 5 and in the full liquids for 2 weeks stage. I am getting sick of cream of chicken strained. I know I will get through this. I am doing two shakes a day also. This sounds like a stupid question but what other Soups can I do? I could do anything as long as it's low in cals/fat and strained right?? I'm also getting crabby hahaha WATCH OUT! :)

Ugh I remember those days, it was awful. I was on liquids for 4 weeks after surgery and thought I might eat my own foot I was so hungry! LOL

You can have any Soup so long as you strain all the chunks out.

V8 also makes some really good cream Soups with no chunks. They have flavors like Tomato Garden, Potato Leek, and Butternut Squash. They're really good and have a full serving of veggies, too.

Hang in there :)

Hello Missy--

I'm 11 days out, and also on full liquid diet. Do you have Trader Joe's where you are? Their "soups in a box" are pretty good, especially the Latin Black Bean.

Went out with a friend yesterday to a Vietnamese restaurant, and had their beef broth (fished out the onion and cilantro)--it seemed really tasty to me! took a to-go container home with me, and had more last night!

I'm kind of appalled that I haven't lost an ounce since surgery day--what is up with that? granted, not doing much activity, but still--my body must be in total shut down mode (metabolism-wise).

Good luck!!

Kathy

I'm eating out a lot to get through this stage. It helps a little for me to be out even if I can only have the broth. I have cheated a bit and ate a finger nail size piece of chicken or noodle, but that's it and my doctor definitely doesn't recommend this.

It is tough, but the two weeks will pass pretty quick I think.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
