Help me back on the bandwagon!

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody! I just need some encouragement....I have totally fallen off the bandwagon. Lately I have been eating too fast (resulting in several sliming sessions) and too much. I eat...am satisfied...and then I find myself eating again an hour later...even though I am not hungry. I don't think I need a fill because I am not really eating large quantities (1/2 - 3/4 of a cup) but I am still eating more often than I should. I am going back to the emotional eating thing rather than relying on physical hunger.

I am also worried because I wonder if I could be stretching my pouch or maybe even making my band slip. Can eating too much make your band slip? I don't have any symptoms...can you slip without symptoms? ARGH! The worst thing about this band is that I constantly wonder if it has eroded or slipped. I am driving myself crazy!

;)

I think you're already nearly back on the band wagon. You recognized that you're eating for emotional reason and admit that it's you and not the band that's the problem. Do a little more soul searching to find out WHY you're back to emotional eating. Clean all the junk out of the fridge and cabinets and take some time to plan your menu and meals for a week. When you're back on tract 100% for a full week and FEEL so much better, you'll be more apt to stay on the band wagon. Good luck!

In my understanding, overeating is the #1 reason for band slippage. My best recommendation is to use a food journal - I like FitDay.com and it's free - and write down your emotional issues at the time you go back for that second helping/grazing session. Another recommendation is to come to LBT more often and share with everyone here - the support is unsurpassed.

Good luck and let us know what's going on with you please.

one "freak out" day is not going to undo all your hard work. It happens. At least you have realized it. Suffering from the slimes all day will help you do better tomorrow! No one wants to do that more than one day.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
