prayer requests for LBT'ers

Recommended Posts

OK I am back and want to thank all of you for your prayers. Harry and I are moved in and only have 5 boxes left to unpack. What a miracle that is, in and of it self. Thank GOD!!!

I have also been more aware of my eating and Water intake and I have dropped back a little in my weight. I am down to 251!!! I was back up to my old gold standard of 257! Why can't I seem to over come that number? i begged God for his guidance. I know that now that things are a little less hetic I should be able to settle into a great routine at the gym too. Thank you all for your prayers.

I do love to come here and seek fellowship with you all. I do have 2 jobs and off time is a scarce commodity for me. I choose to share some of it with you, my on line family.

My prayers go out to all of you who are asking for them and to those who are afraid to post thier requests here for all to read.

May God continue to bless you and keep you.

HEy you guys, LegallyKristin needs our prayers!! She was throwing up blood last night and this morning, and has been dealing with pain and an overfill. Her unfill was scheduled for tomorrow, but it seems her tummy is jumping the gun. Her last post was that she was trying to figure out if the ER was covered. I am really worried about her and paying a ton for her. She has done so well, and is a bright and shining star. I really hope that she is healthy and ok, and secondarily that her band is ok and that she did not slip or tear or erode or anything bad. Poor thing hasn't even been able to keep gatorade down lately, and she must be dehydrated. After just going through that, my body just hurts thinking about her in that pain. Dear God, please keep her close to you and help her through this painful moment. Take care of her and please please please keep her healthy, with the strength to get through this moment without further troubles.

I have a request that I would like to keep "unspoken" for now. We used to have those kind of requests at my home church. Thanks in advance!!

Praising Him for answered prayer!! Thanks to all of you that lifted my request to Him. My DH starts a new job in a couple of weeks. He was able to secure a higher position with a significant pay raise. We have been praying about this for over a year now. All of our expenses have been going up and the old job had frozen OT (he had to work, just didn't get paid) and pay raises. YEAH....we are so happy and thankful!!

3loves that is AWESOME news! God does provide, and He has heard your prayers for your family. I am so glad for your security, and will continue to pray that everything continues well. :scared:

Krisitin did check back in. Seems her doc who was supposed to give her an unfill the last time she was in, didn't really do it. :P She has been tight this whole time, bless her heart. But she was watched over, and got a complete unfill and will heal until she is ready for refill. Thank goodness she did not have anything really serious happen to make her stumble on this journey.

I am praying for everyone to be lifted in their spirits. My emotions have been so down lately, and I really pray that no one else goes through a funk anytime soon. I am not sure why this mild depression has come over me, but I am praying through it, working through it, and spending time doing the thing that brightens my day the most...playing with my kids. God bless you all.

UPDATE: regarding my pregnant friend and her hubby not accepting the news of a new baby... As of last week, things have become much better between the two. Seems like they have made a huge leap in communication.

Thanks for the prayers guys. Thank you. Thank you.

Amen! I'm so glad your friends are on the mend. Let's all pray for a safe pregnancy and delivery!

And Paula, you are so RIGHT ON with your encouragement for Plainsneech. I agree! Well written!

I love this thread.

Plainspeech,,,I agree with Paula about the husband being the anointed head of the family spiritually. God has order in his kingdom. You are your husbands helpmate, and he has responsibility to care and guide the family, with your input!! I also agree that each of our journeys are individual and God said He is the author and finisher of our faith.. It is up to him to bring each of us to a place of faith to believe that He wants us to be delivered of what and when. Some of us are delivered of bondages because God knows how he put us together and how we will respond to particular struggles in our life and He meets us where we need to be met. On the other hand, some of us may not be delivered of certain struggles as we need to work out our faith with fear and trembling. He alone knows which of us need to be strengthened where when and why for future concerns that may be not only for our benefit but for others. I know that He uses our pain and experiences to comfort others with the comfort that we ourselves receive. Getting the lapband does not negate your faith. It does not mean that God doesn't love you. It does not mean that you are out of His will. I'm sure you have put a lot of time into deciding what to do and I believe that caring for the Temple of the Holy Spirit is always wise. For what ever reason you get the band, please know that you are not a lesser Christian since God didn't deliver you from overeating. I am more than sure that you are loved dearly and are in a different place in your journey than your sister. Since when is a different point on the map any closer to its destination when the starting points and ending points different? Keep putting one step in front of another, He is the light unto our path. Rarely does He light up the entire road ahead, He is too intimate for that, I believe He wants to walk closely with us. Its what His word says!:)

Dear Friends, This weekend I will be attending a ministry retreat called the Cleansing Stream. I have attended for several years and have come away with my faith so fortified.

My request is for the attendees, that they receive a fresh revelation of the amazing love of Christ Jesus. And I request prayer covering for the people that provide the ministry, that they hear from the Lord, and that all attendees will have travel mercies. God always shows up and blesses his bride. Thank you!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
