prayer requests for LBT'ers

Recommended Posts

Lord thank you for the gorgeous day and thank you for being our merciful father. I ask for forgiveness for the sins that I have committed knowingly and unknowlingly. I ask you to continue to be with and bless each and everyone of LBT members and lurkers Lord. Only you know what is in the hearts and what is going on in their lives. Please Lord stay with us when we do things that are not pleasing to you, please forgive us. We thank you for allowing us to make the decision to accept you Lord. I pray that for all those who do not know you Lord, that they become to know you in an intimate way so they can have an overflowing abudance of LOVE and just know your know brings peace and a smile.

Lord I ask that you protect and heal Lotsofkids. Guide her surgeons and nurse and all the staff in performing her delicate operations. Lord you have plans for Lotsofkids, let you will be done. We pray that she is restored to 100% love, peace and joy. In Jusus name I pray.

My Mother is my greatest supporter. Her active life inspired me to surgery. At 78 she is addicted to chocolate, seriously. She is now having chest pains and has had several cardio tests and they find nothing. Once again she will undergo these same tests.

PLEASE PRAY THEY FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG.

PLEASE PRAY THAT MOM RECOGNIZE HER DEPENDENCY ON CHOCOLATE AND TURN AWAY FROM HER TERRIBLE HABIT. She has gained at least 20 pounds this year since losing control over candy. It's really sad to watch. Our last stop shopping is always to buy a candybar or a whole bag--much like an alcoholic chooses a pint or a fifth.

I've just found this thread - praise God as he walks with us! I lift each of us, and those of our loved ones for whom we care, in prayer, and will continue to remember the LBT family to the Lord each time I pray.

Lord of compassion, your hand is always stretched out in blessing and healing of the sick and needy, we pray for those of whom we have named before you, and for all who have held themselves out to you, that they may be set free from the troubles and sicknesses that afflict them and be healed by your power, for the honour and glory of your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Almighty God, Father of all mercies,

we thank you for your gifts of healing and forgiveness:

for the grace to love and care for each other,

for your hidden blessings,

and for all you have still in store for us;

for everything, whether joy or sorrow,

whereby you are drawing us to yourself

through Jesus Crist our Lord. Amen.

DeAnn ~ So glad to hear your dad got to come home. How has he been since coming home? Keep in touch!!

Teresita ~ You are one of the sweetest people on this site. Thank you for always uplifting us with prayers and your words of encouragement!! I am thankful the Lord is active in your heart.

Pinkylee ~ Will pray for your mom & the docs to find out the cause of the pain. Did this start in her later years or has she always been addicted to chocolate? I haven't seen too many elderly people eat sweets although my FIL can't seem to get enough sugar and he has diabetes. My kids are totally wired & spoiled when they visit. I'm sure it's difficult with your mom being 78.....it's hard to convince older people to change their habits.

Thanks to you all for praying. Spoke with Mom last night and she admitted she needs help with her addiction. Said she has had it on and off for many years. Your prayers are being answered.

Thank you! Mom is so precious--I can't bear to see her lose her health over something like this.

We have had numerous blessings lately. I am praising God for many things and especially for my new lap band friends on this sight.

I'd like to begin a "tradition". Could we begin giving praise to God for something lap band related that happened during the week on Sundays on this thread? -- or Saturday for you Sabbath Keepers? Remembering we are to give thanks to God for all things--praise Him for your difficulties too.

Rejoicing in all things--but very grateful for a blessed week!

OK Pinkylee I am thankful for my band and not having to burden my heart with with 74 pounds that I have lost. I know it is Friday but blessings do come everyday and I don't usually get on line on the weekends.

Great idea Pinkylee!!

I am thankful I didn't eat the Cookies or brownies I took to church this week (there was a funeral). This is the first time I've baked sweets since I've been banded. The smell reminded me of an old friend. I did take a nibble of a brownie crumb and then spit it out in a napkin.....was afraid of it not going through the band. It was empowering to have control. I know I can do this and the Lord gives me strength every day!!!

Praise God for allowing me to have insurance that allowed this surgery!

I haven't been at 214 (today's weight) in over 14 years! God has been my source of strength. My enabler to follow the Lapband guildelines. He must need me around a little while longer. My health was slipping badly before the surgery.

One more praise. Praise God for our new church in our new home town. Even our adult children enjoy attending church with us.

Praise to God for His guiding hand in the journey that led to my being able to begin an exercise program this week, for the first time in too many years to remember!

God is good, all the time; All the time, God is good.

Terisita:

Don't you feel great? I think about how many "bowling balls" I've lost. Think about the heavy ones at the alley--12 pounds is really heavy to me. I've lost more than 2 of them.

Terisita--you've lost 8. Jus think how much easier it is to move with out carrying 8 bowling balls every step you take.

Thank You God!

Goodness 8 bowling balls, I can't even imagine. Thank you for that analogy. I do feel great and I will kick my but into gear so I can get rid of another 8. I guess I will be doing backflips by then.

Lord thank you for the LBT family and especially I'll Succeed. Lord thank you for hearing and answering our prayers for her recovery. Lord thank you for whippledaddy while he was on LBT. Please continue to be with and bless his family. This time is hard for all of them but with you Lord life will be a joy again and they will be able to say his name, smile and be thankful that they had the short time with him. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

"I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future" Jeremia 29:11

Weight loss is only one of my needs. God will provide answers if I look to Him and keep struggling to be the best person I can be.

I am thankful to be reminded that God has a plan for my life.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
