Food Processor Recommendation?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am just starting to think about the fact that I need a food processor in order to puree my food during the "mushie" phase. Does anyone have any recommendations for a brand or model of a food processor that would be great for doing this? I don't need a big one since I will only be pureeing portions for myself. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I absolutely love my vita-mix but very very expensive. I have heard people use the bullet and they sell that at bed bath and beyond. If you don't have coupon you can print one onloine. Also if you don't like it they will take back if you have receipt. Also I have never puréed my foods. There are plenty of other options.

The bullet is perfect and inexpensive.. I also did not puree my foods however I use my bullet daily for my shakes and the fruit I add to them.. it comes with cups that you can mix in and take on the go.. perfect for my use.. but there are so many options out there that I am sure had I purchased a different one I would be saying the same things about it..

Thank you for the recommendation! If you didn't puree, what were you eating during the mushie phase of recovery? Just curious.

My dietician said anything that you can mash with a fork.. so I had a lot of tuna fish.. egg salad.. mash potatoes.. baked fish as long as I could mash it.. and my favorite "grits"..

From reading others post my doctors office kind of combined the puree and soft phase into one.. also those foods mentioned had to be really soft and moist..

Well said Tru! I also ate a lot of Beans. You can have cottage cheese, humus, soft cheeses like laughing cal. Some mix it with tuna, eggs, canned chicken, re fried beans,

. This is when you start to get creative.

I also have the magic bullet black edition. Got it got my bday pre surgery because I knew I was going to need it. LOVE IT! And it's very portable and small and even though I'm on solids if I need to blend any batter or anything I still use it. I also pulse it a couple of times for a quick chop.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
