6 days after banded and still not getting back on my feet.

Recommended Posts

Banded Monday (2/4) and still fighting severe gas issues. Now, severe upset stomach and nausea. Went back to doc and they ran every test possible, with no alarming results. Any suggestions?

I was also banded on Monday. I still have gas issues, shoulder and back pain. I am passing intestinal gas after doing my share of walking. My doc still has me on clear fluids which I am thankful for. I do feel like I must take it slowly. I don't think the gas issue is unusual. What kind of diet are you on? Do you have medication for nausea?

Stop taking pain meds if you can? They just caused a lot of problems for me. Pain meds can slow down or even stop your digestive system causing excess fluids to stay in your stomach and digestive track. But that's just me.

Pain meds do not really work on the gas pains... they tend to add to them by stopping up the system. Try some mirlax and switch to tylenol is at all possible. The longer you are on pain meds, the more Constipation you will have.

just keep walking and moving..it will eventually move its way out..def stay ahead of the pain with the meds if it helps..i know it doesnt seem like it, but it does get better each and everyday. congrats on your surgery.

ps, great job on letting your dr know you were hurting. that is what you should do :) and you sent a great message to people by writing that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
