Do you drink with your junk food?

Recommended Posts

Right now I am in my 5-15 day stage and I'm allowed pudding which I'm thankful for and this evening as I was enjoying my sugar free cheesecake pudding with some fat free cool whip on top I was wondering if it really mattered if I sipped on some iced tea or not. It's not like I'm eating a meal, isn't my pudding what everyone here calls a "slider food" so whether I drink or not there isn't any real value to the pudding anyways and it's not going to contribute to keeping me full so avoiding liquids before and after will have no effect right? Do you all still live by the "no drinks" rule even with junk food or do you throw that out the window when it comes to Snacks?

That's some tough love! I am dead set on hitting my goals and I'll get there but realistically I know if I don't build into my lifestyle some yummy treats for myself I'll be miserable and look at this lifestyle change as a negative instead of a positive.

Its best to practice even with pudding not to eat and drink at the same time. I have not in three years ate and drank with anything. Even if its pudding I wait 20 to 30 minutes after before I drink. Better to practice now so you will be ready when you are eating real food.< /p>

Seeing that you just had your surgery you should be careful about following your dr's rules. My dr has now said it is ok to take tiny sips with your meal as long as you wait about a minute between as you would with bites of food. I drink usually only with dinner, but it is only a few sips at the most.

Drinking while you are eating is a hard habit to break. It's best to start now while you are in the "honeymoon" period.

Chris for me, I needed to find what worked. My doctor allows drinking with meals, just wait 1 minute after a bite take a drink & then wait a minute before the next bit. Sometimes I drink with a meal, sometimes I don't. Mostly I don't because I find that I get the satisfied feeling & it lasts longer if I don't.

I also eat sweets in my day. Frozen yogurt bars, snack bars, sugar free pudding, etc. I found that I had to make my new lifestyle something that I was happy with & that I could stick to.

I also drink a glass of wine before my dinner every night, again my doctor has no problem with that & I enjoy wine. I belong to a wine club with a Texas winery in Lubbock heading there tomorrow for a wine & chocolate festive tomorrow night (& yes I will also sample some chocolate). All in moderation.

Find what works for you. I did and some of the things I found that work for me are thing my fellow LBT friends say are no-nos...but they work for me.

Good luck to you.

I have 9 cc in my band and I cant even imagine drinking anything while eating. Even if i drink something before i eat I have to wait a few minutes so that the liquid can go down before i eat

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
