I weighed the groceries!

Recommended Posts

I brought the groceries into the house today. Before I unpacked them, DH said "Wait! Wait!" He ran upstairs to get the bathroom scales. He weighed two of the sacks and handed them to me! :) He said "You want to lose 100 lbs. Those sacks weigh only 25 lbs. Try to imagine carrying around 4 of them all the time."

Guess he will be supportive.

lol, I never thought of it that way, but geez, thats right we are carrying around extra sacks aren't we. That was really cute. I'm going to think of this every time I lose 25lbs. :biggrin1:

My baby now weighs 25 lbs. He is very heavy to me after a while. I can't believe that I have lost over 2 of him. That really puts the whole actual feel of the weight into perspective for me.

Oh Yeah, the dog food aisle is my FRIEND!!!! I regularly stop there to lift a 50 pound bag. I have lost about 60 since my high weight. WOW! I love it! Then I lift a 38 pound bag and know this is how much I still need to lose. It keeps my eye on the prize. LOL

Yesterday I was holding my great-nephew (25lbs) and my baby wanted me to hold her as well (another 25lbs).. They were SOOOOO heavy.. and I've lost 10lbs more than that (60lbs so far) and I just can't imagine how I got through the day.. I could only hold the two of them for a few seconds before I had to give one of them to my sister.

My doctor always related our loss to dog food. He said to me that I'd been carrying around 2 extra, 50lb bags of dog food. When he put it that way, I didn't realize what a lug I'd been carrying around slung all over my body. Makes you feel good when it's gone.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
