My Fill Epiphany

Recommended Posts

Just got back from the doctor and had my 8th adjustment. Added .5 CC's this time. I asked my Doc if saline seeped out of the band, tubing or port over time because I've been able to eat most anything these last 2 months. He told me something that made a lot of sense.

As time goes along, our stomachs acclimate to the band and adapt. The pouch becomes stronger and is able to massage that bolus of food through the stoma with more ease than it did before we reached the green zone. This makes sense to me.

Likewise, if someone has been eating slider foods the pouch could weaken and have more difficulty massaging healthy solid food past the band? Therefore, the bandsters who come here and bemoan the fact they can only eat junk but can't eat solid food anymore would make sense. If you train your pouch to just allow slider food to pass right on through, expect it to put up a fuss when you give it real healthy solid food. jmo

I'm definitely going to remember this if I have trouble eatting healthy food. Thanks for passing the info along.

I have wondered the same thing. The human body is pretty amazing and can adapt to pretty much anything. I am scheduled for a fill in 1 week and I am looking forward to it. I hope it will get me over this plateau.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
