Hey everyone, I cannot believe I am now banded girl! I never thought this day would come. I am in a lot of pain after surgery and don't know how to get rid of the gas pain. My body doesn't know whether I feel nauseous or full or if it's just the air in my stomach. I am walking around and trying to stay awake. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to relieve some of the gas pressure? I just want to feel better. Thank you all in advance.

Congrats and welcome to your new journey.

If you're having a lot of pain which is very normal for some take your pain meds as per your instructions. The gas part is uncomfortable but will get better as they days progress. I walked as much as I could and found that helped. When I experienced the shoulder pain, walking, laying flat on my back and doing deep breathing for about ten mins helped relieve it.

I has the nausea part for a good week, I just sipped my liquids slowly and if the nausea got really bad I'd lay down curled up on my side till it passed or slept it off.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

I heard heating pads help with the gas pains, as well as walking and gas x.

Congratulations and wishing you a speedy recovery!

Walking as much as possible and get a really good heating pad. Honestly that helped me more than anything. The majority of my pain was in my left shoulder and the pain meds didn't help that. I would wrap the heating pad around my shoulder and at night i slept on it. It made a world of difference! Good luck!!!

Walking is the best way to rid your self of gas. You can also ask your dr what over the counter gas relief he reccomends.

Welcome to the other side!

The gas was the worst part of the surgery for me, I slept at night in a recliner and kinda sat up, and move around as much as possible, Heat pad will help too... Good luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
