My period came 2 weeks early after surgery - I think it is fairly common after something so stressful/traumatic on your body. I do not remember how long it lasted but I was not too concerned. Your body has gone through a lot - if it goes much longer, perhaps call your OB/GYN - otherwise, I think it is perfectly natural.

Periods can be strange after surgery. You will get normal again, but for me it was months. My first period after my surgery was two months late and lasted 3 days. The second was 5 weeks later and lasted 8 days. I have been regular for the last 3 months and I have been banded for 6. I have heard of them being early, late, long, short, etc.

Your body is going through a lot of physical changes and this is jaut a reaction to it. But don't worry!

Anytime you combine obesety and menses and weightloss you get lots of weird stuff. Mine has never been regular, I hope one day with a healthy weight it may become more normal. If you are having a heavy flow and feel weak and lethargic call your doc, you can become anemic. Otherwise, light periods can go for a while before becoming a problem. Listen to your body :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
