January 2013 Bandsters Unite

Happy New Year from Germany! To those like me who have January 2013 dates to be banded...my prayers to you for a successful surgery and a new YOU!

For those waiting on approvals or just to make up your mind...YOU WILL GET THERE...JUST HOLD ON. I have patience, but truly learned patience waiting on those little green people at the insurance company to say YES!

Speak positive, stay positive, be positive. If you know God...PRAY. He will see each of you thru this journey. I've read many posts and I have laughed, cried, gotten mad, sympatized and rejoiced with many of you through your expressions on LBT. And you have encouraged me to continue to move forward toward my goal.

Success in 2013 to each of you.

:-)

Hey Daron! My pre-op appt is Friday with all the final testing on the 22nd. Less than 3 weeks to go! (i'm the 29th too!) I have to be at the hospital at 5 with surgery at 7. Yeah!

Hi peeps!

I got the call today to confirm my approval!

I am so excited!!!!

My surgeons office had everything set up anyways so it was great! I really love how they have treated me this whole process.

I am going in on Friday to sign the consents, get my pre and post op instructions and prescriptions and I start my 2 week protein shake diet on Monday.

I can't believe this is really happening and that it is so close!

Seems like I have dreamed about being the me I always wanted to be and now, knowing its about to happen....its amazing!

To hell with the people who say you shouldnt need surgery! I am a real person with real problems who is so grateful I am being blessed with the chance to change my life

Congrats! I an wrapping up Day 1 and it was rough to say the least. Did it get better for you after the first couple days?

Congrats Kerri!

Hi everyone! January 8 for me. No pre-op diet... wonder why? Makes me a little nervous. Wishing everyone the greatest journey!

No pre op diet for me either. I was just told not to go crazy with the food cause if he gets in ther a liver is to big he will just close me up and send me home.

At the hospital now, getting prepared for surgery!

Good luck and many prayers for a safe procedure and speedy recovery :D

I need some opinions. I love cuties clementines and I am on my pre-op diet that consists of; 2 protein shakes, 1 cup of cottage cheese, 3 cups raw vegtables, 1 can of progresso light soup a day. My question is does anyone thing having a cutie or two a day will hurt? I am losing weight as instructed to shrink my liver and I am sticking to the rest of the diet just fine, I just like to eat the cuties and they are helping with the protein overload and the blockage problem that causes, if you know what I mean.

Any oppinions would be nice thanks :D

Idk why cuties would be an issue. They're about 60-80 calories. My nutritionist just said after surgery the fibrous membranes would be hard on my stomach.

I have been reading that on some other posts and I love cuties, I will miss them :(

I didn't know if anyone know of a reason why I couldn't have one or two a day before surgery, if it would affect the size of my liver?

Getting more and more excited. My surgery is Monday and I'll be on the other side.
