I recenly had a fill of 1 cc. It was too tight and I spent a week in discomfort with daily vomiting, acid reflux at night, and never being able to keep more than a few ounces of food down. I can only get to my surgeon on a Thursday and I waited an entire week before getting to him. He removed a 1/2 cc. Now I am hungry and can eat much more than the week before. I've gained 3 pounds since Thursday! Finding the green zone is the biggest challenge with a band. Once we get there, though, we will be very happy. It costs me $120 everytime I have an adjustment. I know my surgeon is doing the best he can in getting me into the zone, but it takes time to find it. I just have to be patient and do my part in not overeating. We will get there - it just may not be overnight.

I agree. With my 1/4 cc out I actually feel hunger pangs again....with that being said I'm making sure I get the best out if my three meals a day focusing on foods that will keep me filler longer. In hoping I can get more exercise in and drop some weight without another fill. 12 pounds to goal and I have to make a regular consistent workout routine and continue to make good choices. Maybe this is my green zone. Unsure but I don't have discomfort and getting about 1-1 1/2 cups food now but fearful about gaining after unfill... I know this is healthier this way.

I am not sure what menopause has to do with anything... I went through it the second i was banded actually...had my last TOM the day before band surgery...LOL

if you aren't happy with your doctor then you should find another. I would make sure I tried all avenues of communication before I switched but ultimately if you find another dr who motivates you and meets your needs better than the one you have it's worth considering.

Oh god, you're lucky. Menopause has wreaked havoc on my health and as a result my weight! I have no energy, my legs feel like lead and my athletic ability and performance has steadily declined. I don't recover and simply cannot physically handle the same number of sessions and the same intensities that I could a year ago.

I have lost muscle and gained fat, in the past six months I have gained 10lb and it's ALL gone on my bum and highs (thanks HRT). It's no mystery why ive gained, I have insatiable sugar cravings, the likes of which I've never in my life experienced, and that's really saying something for me.

I'm lethargic, listless and depressed.

I have fibroids growing in my uterus too, I suspect I'm in a terrible state if estrogen dominance, but am not sure who to turn to for help.

Menopause and hormones have a very real and traumatic part to play for many women!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
