Is It Notmal To Be Hungry After A Fill?

Recommended Posts

It's possible that you may need another adjustment. However before you do try solids. I usually go back to solids on day 3, with day 1 being the fill day. Also talk to your doctor.

The band won't make it so you're never hungry again. Hunger is your body's natural response to needing food. Right now you're not on solid food so I'm not surprised you're hungry.

The band is supposed to allow you to be satisfied on less food for longer periods of time, not get rid of your hunger forever.

I got my first fill today. I feel more starving right now then I have since my surgery. I drank a protien shake two hrs ago so I don't understand why I'm so hungry. I don't think the fill had anything to do with it, I think because I've only drank protien shakes!

Same here, now that I'm back on solids and I have to do the liquids for 1 day, I end up starving, it sucks, but at least it's a lot shorter of a time. I go in for a fill tomorrow, so a fun liquid day ahead for me, lol :)

That is exactly how I feel. Guess it must be normal.

my dr said I only need to do liquids if uncomfortable after a fill. so far not an issue. I am careful but no problems last time with food

I do liquids for the rest of the day of the fill, mushies the next day, soft foods the next day, and back to regular after that.

Like Missy said, the band doesn't stop you from feeling hungry and after liquids and mushy sliders, we're going to feel it.

Filled Monday and had serious stomach growling, it was really po'd!

Once you start with good solid Proteins it will get a little better, unless we need another fill.

Wecome to "Bandster Hell", enjoy the ride!

I am 67 days post op. The first two visits Dr didn't want to give me a fill because I was losing weight and wasn't hungry. I just had my first fill yesterday I went from 1 cc to 4 cc. I'm ravenous today even after drinking shakes and Water all day long.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
