January 2013 Bandsters!

Anyone else getting banded in January? I'm scheduled for January 23rd. It all feels so real now that a date has been set.

Ladybabie3 mine is the 21st too!

Cool can we keep in touch

I am on day 4 out of 5 for liquid diet. I get banned on the 10th. However, I called because the liquid diet is not settling with me right and asked if I could take tums. Now they may cancel my surgery. My surgeon thinks I am sick. This is not the case. I should have never called. I am freaking out right now. Everything that could have gone wrong has for my surgery. I had a hernia and it is a medium one so that is a concern then they thought I had a decificany which could have caused Addison's disease. I don't have it. I will have started the process in march. It has almost been a year.

Also, if you haven't been put on a liquid diet and are doing it I would suggest adding maybe pudding. It will help the stomach.

Sending good thoughts your way! I hope it turns out to be nothing. I know docs want to err on the side of caution, but waiting over a year must make you feel desperate to get something done.

Thanks! Good luck to you too! How's it going so far?

I don't have a date yet. Waiting on approval but my surgeon wanted me to start my diet now so that by the time I get my approval, I'll be ready to go. End of January at the earliest, first week of February at the lastest.

So far so good. I'm sure it will get easier. The diet is very close to the Medifast diet I was on last year so I know what to expect and how to manage it.

Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow! Gotta be at the hospital at 6:30!!

Good luck, Mimi! I'm right there with you. It seems to be getting easier the closer I get to surgery, now that its becoming so real.

Thanks Lapbandit. Day 1 was haaaaaaard. Day 2 a little better. The trick is not to let myself get too hungry so every time I start to feel hunger pangs, I drink water or Crystal Light or I eat jello, applesauce, a popsicle or drink a cup of broth. I have to call my doctor today to see if I can substitute something else in place of the Bariatric Advantage bars. They are horrible!
