Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!

Good point about the fat, I never really keep tabs on that. Thanks for the heads up!

How many grams of fat per day do you aim for?

Hope all goes well with your birth control!!

Hanna, try and stay between 25-30 fat grams per day, try and not go over 30, being the max. You want to stay within that range closest to 25 grams, but deff no more than 30.

Ok so I am reading more, and I'm wrong on the fat thing. It should be high on low carb days. Here's a great calculator I even found:

http://www.freedieti..._calculator.htm

Here is what I should be eating on a low carb diet for a max of 1300 calories:

CARBOHYDRATE 30g

PROTEIN 135g

FAT 60g

Two days in and I'm down ~5lbs! Interesting. Could be the removal of Halloween candy & limiting of wine that's helping also :-)

I was checking out the calculators on line last night before I went to bed . Honestly, the fat grams that high scares me. I don't know why. I guess its a mental thing because I have gone to weight watchers almost all of my life and was fixated on the fat grams and like a trained dog i can't break the habbit. LOL. Work in progress girlfriend. Oh, and I know I would never be able to do that much Protein I have a hard time getting it in now, I struggle with that too. However, I know I am eating more protein now in my life than I ever had before. Even in the 40's for me is great progress because I am not a meat lover and always struggled to eat it.

At the same time, you know we all are going to get different results and it will be interesting to see how we all do. Its deff. going to be trial and error when we all find our 'nitch'. This is the hardest part figuring out the ratio and balancing it out so that our body agrees with it and works...

ttyl my sweet friend (hugs)

My Atkins thinking...fat is good on low carb days. In fact they encourage it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
